How do I change icloud email when my apple ID has been updated to new email? Because of the update on apple ID, when I try to delete icloud account I have to put in the password, and it says username or password is invalid (because no longer apple ID).

How do I change icloud email when my apple ID has been updated to new email? When I try to delete icloud account (in settings-icloud-delete account) I have to put in the password for the apple ID of my old email address, which is no longer my apple ID, and it says username or password is invalid (I'm guessing because that is no longer my apple ID).

Thank you! I think part of the problem is that the sign out for the iCloud is so far at the bottom you don't know it's there mixed with the fact that the stupid window with the old email keeps popping up asking for password. Without your post I would never have scrolled way to the bottom to sign out nor would I have put my current password with the old ID for the iCloud for the "find my iPad" option. You saved me from losing my mind! Lol, thanks this worked for me.

IT turns out never to delete apple products without consulting support first. There is a very succinct order that things must be done in. I really messed up my PC trying to remove apple products. It took a senior tech person three hours to get in uninstalled and reinstalled properly.

AS for this one, you must change the iCloud prior to the Apple Store ID. The support had me going back and forth between old Apple ID and password. I already can't remember, but think I was able to use the new password with the old apple ID, but it may have just been when I switched back to the new Apple ID, my new password didn't need to be changed.

but just remember, Apple support highly rec to me that I do not temove any apple programs without the assistance of a support member and that is taking Giles off your PC program file list.

i Thought Apple was supposed to be the easy, intuitive computer and other products- not so much. But support is great!

I followed your steps, signing out of the old App Store and iTunes account and signing in with my new account name and password. However, when I went to iCloud, the old email address is persistent, and I no longer have the password for that. How can I change the email address for iCloud?

Retype the AppleID and password.

I have a iPhone 6splus, I should of changed my iCloud and password along time back, I can come up with 1excuse after another why didn't but in reality I didn't, I have had medical issues and I keep forgetting, my Apple ID and password the new I have been using but, never thought to change my iCloud ID or password, cannot get into my iCloud to change both iD or password? I am lost?! I did go to Apple ID.apple.com but I put in new, and it asks me 2 of my security questions, 1 is right, the other wrong. Scheduled a call back appointment for tomorrow but, can I do it now however needs to be done? Any ideas?...lost

the problem I'm having is i didn't sign out of iCloud before changing the password associated. Honestly I didn't stop to consider this step would be necessary when I updated the email associated with my account and now I'm paying for it. 😟 there is at the moment no fix, from any of the answers I've got through the message board so I'm at the point where I think i need to do like a factory reset and just call all my stuff i can't back up a loss and re log in. (or upload it to a different online storage.)

I got the same problem

The thing is that i can't do anything on my old account because of "security reason" as it says.

I forgot my passwords on this old acct (email, ...)

I forgot the answers of key questions.

So I can't use any apps which need update

So i successfully change my apple id but it does not solve anything

Please help

I ran into this problem myself a week ago. It has to do with the order that you did things. The iCloud accont is tied to you Apple ID. So, you need to take care of the iCloud account stuff before you change your Apple ID. You might be able to contact Apple tech support on this, or change your Apple ID back to get rid of your iCloud account and then re-change your Apple ID.

Anybody else have a different solution?

You will wait for the rest of your life. You need to fix it; no one else will. To turn off "Find my iPhone" and its associated Activation Lock you need the Apple ID and password that were used to turn it on. If you know the Apple ID you can contact Apple Account Security and have them reset the password (after you prove you are the rightful owner of that Apple ID). see: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5699.

If you don't know the Apple ID the phone is permanently unusable.

I realize this is an old post, but I just had this issue and was able to solve it:

1. Settings > App Store and iTunes. Sign out of the old acct and sign in with new

2. Settings > iCloud, scroll to bottom and Sign out

a. When prompted to turn off Find My phone, it'll show your old email address, but enter the changed password. We'd changed the primary email and password for the account, and this changed password worked for the old Apple ID email

3. Sign back in to iCould with the new email and password

Just tried it and it worked.

Scary as all get out because it will delete all your photos off the phone, then aks you if you want to keep all the data in your calendar, reminders, contacts, etc.

Once I logged back in with the new email address is said "Saving" with a wheel turning for quite some time (at least 25 minutes). I'm assuming it was reloading data to the iPhone that it had removed when I signed out.

Now all I can hope for is I still have all my documents on the iCloud Drive and that El Capitan finishes it's snail-like install.

How do I change icloud email when my apple ID has been updated to new email? Because of the update on apple ID, when I try to delete icloud account I have to put in the password, and it says username or password is invalid (because no longer apple ID).
