Screensaver not using selected preset

I have 2 AppleTV's that we use for lobby loops. Both were connected to an iCloud Photo Stream that a small group of people could provide updates to with a commonly known Apple ID. Since the latest update both systems revert to the National Geographic photo group instead of the iCloud Photo Stream. We've logged out of the accounts, reset the device, logged back in, slected another screensaver the reselected the Photo Stream and they fail to remember that the Photo Stream is the selected screensaver content. After power up and the screensaver delay the National Geographic photo group is displayed, not the Photo Stream group. Anyone else run into this and find a fix?

I want to admit that I am also having this issue. It started occuring since the latest update. I restarted the apple TV and logged in and out of the icloud account in question? Perhaps I need to do a complete wipe of the appleTV from scratch?

Same here. Called tech support and apple tech said he had same issue at home, no solution. Suggested I go to store even though 3 months out of warranty. Store was not surprised to see me and gave a new unit after testing my unit. Got home with a new unit and after the first power down and start up, screensaver reverted back to national geographic. Pretty annoying. Guess I could go back to the store and ask for another device. Pretty sure that's a waste of time. Hello, Apple, can you please address.

Hi,

there is no hardware problem. Changing the Apple TV unit doesn't solve the problem.

Instead there's a bug in the current Apple TV firmware.

Using WLAN / WIFI the unit doesn't automatically connect to iCloud. Only by using a LAN / cable connection the device will auto-connect.

You can easily reproduce this behaviour by connecting to iCloud manually via Home Screen. After this and NOT shutting down the device your Apple TV will use your iCloud screensaver.

After the next Shut Down / Power Off there will be National Geographic until you reconnect.

Apple already got this bug reported via Apple Care and will fix this with the next firmware upgrade.

Just came here to say this still hasn't been fixed. Pretty annoying. I'll submit yet another bug report to possibly escalate it on the priority list.

I updated my Apple TV yesterday to the latest firmware update. This behavior is still present. iCloud photo stream screensaver won't work until I go to the app and view the stream I have my screensaver set to.

I am pleased to say that, in my experience (using AppleTV as digital signage in church environment) the most recent software update (6.1 6698.99.16) appears to have fixed the problem!

Multiple restarts since, and each time the screensaver automatically returns to the iCloud Photostream as expected. No longer any need to step through the settings to reestablish or to manually use preview.

Previous to the update, I had been experiencing the same symptoms reported by everyone else (return to default NatGeo screensaver after reboot, needing to use Preview to force use of my selected Photostream).

I hope others are also having success?
