iPhone iOS 7 - Video app crashes/exits

Hi, on an IPhone 5S, running iOS 7.0.2, my 'Videos' app crashes and exits when I delete a movie. When I go back into the app the video has indeed deleted but the crash/exit is a hassle. Any fix for this at all? Thanks!

Same error on all iPads we own. The video app seems to have a few glitches, downloading existing purchases items doesn't work (need to go to the store), deleting TV series, app not identifying you have already purchased a series. Inconveniences. I hope they'll fix this in due course. It's quite a shame what has happened to the previously reliable iPad.

I received my new iPad mini/ Retina 128g and it's still crashing upon deleting TV shows or Movies. I hope 7.04 addresses this issue since video is the secondary reason for using my iPad, email being my primary reason. It does seem like they are ignoring this problem as it seems that a fix couldn't be that difficult as it's never been a problem that I can remember.

Uncovering all sorts of weirdness as I test my way through this. If you leave the video app and use a few other apps then return to the app, you no longer have the last watched TV prog/film etc ready to play, you're back the at the main menu. Same thing for books. I think there's some real wobbly stuff going on here. I might risk downloading 7.1, though from what I've read I might wait.

This is a video app icloud bug

If you go to settings / video and choose show all videos, you then can delete videos w/o crashing

If you disable showing icloud videos and delete a tv show the app will crash

It has to do with the video app and icloud and something isn't working properly.

I think what apples's intent is if you don't show everything in the cloud that you will be doing everything in iTunes via sync, and iTunes will remove stuff you have watched and install new episodes

And if u choose show all, you intend to fully use icloud and not iTunes

This is all just a guess.

But an easy for if flick the show all videos under settings / video. The crashing will stop as well as a lot of other nasty bugs.

If u go to music and hit show all music under settings, this will fix many issues in the music app also

Drawback is u see everything in the cloud for videos and music plus what's on your video... So it's not just small and simple.

I've contacted apple support. They are clueless. So I sent feedback

Ios 7 totally re wrote the video and music apps from scratch. And they are ment to be used with icloud. Unfortunately turning off icloud features with them causes crashes and bugs

Hi guys APPLE UPDATE- have been on the phone to them for months regarding this issue. Just spoke to a senior technician. They have recreated the issue themselves on multiple accounts this has been raised and will hopefully just be sorted in a future software update.

For now they advice to go to settings switch on show all videos and this will stop videos from crashing the app.

hope this helps

I, too, have had the same issues. Video app does not crash if I delete videos I've created. It only happens when I delete purchased movies or TV shows. Choosing to "show all videos" is not really a "fix" as, then you can't delete any video you've purchased through iTunes. Showing all videos also makes it impossible to know which episode you've left off on in a season of a TV show. Hopefully, Apple will release an update that finally fixes this!

Symptom:

When accessing video app on iOS 8.x it crashes when toggling between Movies and TV Shows. If you go to [Settings][Show All Videos] and turn off, it works. If you turn on, TV Shows crashes the video app.

Solution:

Log out of App Store and log back in... [Settings][ITunes & App Store]. If this doesn't work try first turning off Show All Videos, log out of App Store, log out of iCloud. Log back in to App Store, iCloud, access Videos app, toggle between Movies and TV Shows, then turn on Show All Videos.
