Update Unavailable with This Apple ID

Assuming you are properly signed in at Settings > iTunes & App Stores with your Apple ID and password, is it in fact true that the apps were purchased (whether free or not) with the very same Apple ID and password you're currently using?

You said that when you view this app in the App Store, it says "Free"? If that is case, what happens when you click on it to download it? Because it would appear that you actually didn't download this app, even though you said that you have.

Try it, see what happens.

If you delete the app, you cant get it again. I have the same proble with some free and paid apps. Has anyone gotten this issue resolved?? I have not changed apple id's ever.

I also contacted apple support, they sent me a canned email asking for the purchase code. I wonder if the little apple people realize how long it takes to use itunes to browse hundreds of receipts with out way to search on them, for a few apps.

This is minecraft what i am talking about, my kids are making me crazy :)

I have also audio books and music purchase disapearing from my purchases on itunes, so if i loose them on our devices we can not get it back. Every time a device is reset, i have to call support. So much for "buying" music from itunes....

Experiencing that same with the Facebook app, no clue how to fix it...hoping someone will post a solution soon

all apps are updating ok except facbbook 6.6 update, getting exact error as mentioned. anyone figure out a solution?

I'm having this same problem with the Amazon Mobile App. It wouldn't update the app so I deleted it (like an idiot) so I could install it fresh and I get the same error.

Turn off and on your device and attempt it again; after that occurs create a backup and then reset your settings under Settings > General > Reset > Reset all settings

If this doesn't work you want to back up and restore via iTunes http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414

metasolary, ur suggestions will not work. fundimental issue is itunes thinks the app is not purchased, eventhough it is. i have a second iphone, same problem with that account. not a software phone issue, but a itunes programming error. when i look for purchased apps: facebook does not show up. nor will it le me install it de novo.

Having the exact issue with evernote. Did the uninstall thing and now I'm sol. Reboot made no difference.

snowmark's right it's not a problem with the phone. I can't even re-download or re-buy the app in iTunes on the desktop.

spoke to apple engineer. they found bug. now we have to wait for fix. will not take forever...

I have the same issue for my Amazon app. I know as a fact that on my old iphone this updated with no problems using the only apple ID i have. Now that I upgraded to iphone 5s, this is not a problem with only this one app. Please help.

Add another one to this list... driving me up the wall... I have Store bought Versions of both iWork and iLife and cannot update any of the apps with my ID... The whole ID thing is a total mess with apple and has been since they introduced the app store! Sad because so much of what they do rocks!

PEOPLE,I HAVE THE ANSWER!You just have to try a some of these methods.I WILL NOT CONFIRM THAT THEY WORK YET.

METHOD 1:Try emailing Apple Support.

METHOD 2:Sign out and sign in.Then try again.

METHOD 3:Delete the apps and download them again.

METHOD 4:Change your location and change it back to your actual location and try.

METHOD 5:last resort:Make a NEW Apple ID.
