Where are the Radio Stations in iTunes Radio?

Am I missing something?

Where are the radio stations in iTunes Radio. Would like to listen to my out of town sports and news stations.

If cannot happen makes no sense to call this iTunes Radio?

I too cannot see internet radio in iTunes. It used to appear in the sidebar below Music, Movies etc. I have checked the internwet radio option in settings general (see below - scroll down). I am on Mountain Lion with iTunes 11.1.5. If I go to my playlist for radio stations that I had made previously, my streams are listed but I cannot play them.

These streams will not play, but they work on the station's website.

The closes thing I can find to what I THINK is the original poster's intention (and was mine as well) is to go to the new Radio tab while looking at your library music. Then click the ➕ and you'll get an option for Featured Stations, which has a bunch, but then the "album cover" list below will let you click on them and select a sub-selection. For example, World, African. Or Alternative, then 80s. It's FAR FAR from perfect, but there you go.

The challenge I had is that I wanted it to behave like Pandora, where I start with an artist and then add artists that expand the reach of the station. I find that having select an artist (like Acoustic Alchemy for a smooth jazz feel) limits the scope of the station too much for me. The "generalized" options they provide are similar too broad.

Heh, images of too-hot and too-cold porridge come to mind 🙂

Chris's illustration is correct. After opening Preferences, follow his number sequence. 1. Check Internet. 2. Click on Internet button on menu bar. Missing from the graphic is No. 3, which is viewing the list of folders of stations by category (e.g., Country, International, News/Talk, etc.). No. 4 is opening a category folder to reveal and choose the individual stations. You can then build one or more playlists comprising stations, which will show up under Music as if they were songs or albums, etc.

All of the other many solutions offered (e.g., "select Radio tab") invoke Apple iTunes "Radio," which is just a DJ mashup created by Apple. The "varieties" are marketing categories. Usually top-notch music, but not radio.

So you are saying false to a post that is from last year? I'll have to think about that for a while. I'll check back again in another year or so....

Meanwhile, back at the ranch, this works for me...

That is, considering the fact that many people (understandably) do not realise that "iTunes Radio" proper... is NOT the same thing as iTunes Internet radio 🙂

Cheers,

mm~

How did you enable Internet Radio in the Music app in iOS?

wait a minute...

Your screenshot shows iTunes Radio in the Music app.

Internet Radio in iTunes is not the same as iTunes Radio in iTunes.

And there is no Internet Radio in the Music app in iOS.

The Music app does have iTunes Radio.
