why is my iCal changing calendar colors? when i change it back it changes it again. help!

Yes. My first and second calendars keep changing colors. My third and fourth calendars were not changed. I cannot change colors at all - whether "standard" or through color wheel. It is so annoying!

My 1st and 3rd calendar have changed. The first from orange to blue and the third from blue to light purple/pink.

Having same problem here. One day I noticed 2 of my 6 calendars were the wrong color. I change. It changes back to same wrong color from before. One changed from the Green to Blue. One changed from the standard Orange to a NON-standard light purple-ish color. Meaning, to achieve this color manually you would have to click "other" in the color drop-down menu and you would have to play with the color wheel. I wonder if that is an important detail...??

Mine is a non-standard light purple-ish color too! And my other calendar got changed into blue as well...

aha! i think we found something. seems that 2 calendars are being changed by this "bug" (or whatever) , one gets stuck on blue, the other gets stuck on a custom purple hue.

just a hunch... mine are both icloud calendars.. on about 4 devices each. yours?

Ummm...yes Xeno. The situation is with icloud-based calendars.

Just noticed today for some reason, iCal started defaulting to the color pink. Regardless of how many times I change it, it defaults back to pink. pretty frustrating.

Frustratingly this happened just today me as well and equally as frustrating is I see posts on this going back months. There seems to be NO comment from Apple! What has happened to Apples customer service? It once was excellent but now seems to be lacking.

I'm having the same problem with my iCloud sync'd calendars. My 'Home' calendar was orange & now is blue and if I change it back either on my Mac OS X machines or in my iCloud web account in a few seconds it turns blue again. My Work calendar was green and was changed to purple. If I change it back, it reverts to purple again after a few seconds.

This started for me on the evening of 8 Oct 13, as well.

I've been on several 'help' feeds and it looks like it is an icloud issue. it was interesting to see how many people had work set as "green" and it was chaning to "purple".

One person posted that they had talked to Apple and they were working on a fix. So I am hoping to only have to deal with purple for a short time

I just phoned apple support.

Apple has a problem with the icloud-calender programming. So the colors are wrong interpreted by the apple icloud-servers.

Apple knows about the problem and try to fix it. (but couldn´t say how long it will take)

Fac is: you can´t do anything to fix the problem.

Just spoke with a Sr. Tech support rep who was able to verify the problem (recreate it) and has escalated it to their engineering team. This only means that IF they weren't already working on it, they would be within 24 hours from now. Appears they should have already started as their is an article already active.

The last time this happened it was resolved within 3-4 days without any effort on my part.

Seems to be an icloud server issue, but to just share my specs: MacBook Pro 10.8.5 with 2 other devices syncing, all using iOS 7. No 3rd party calendar apps or programs.

I just came from a breakfast meeting where someone suggested Apple did this to join others in highlighting Breast Cancer Awareness month -- thus the pink in all calendars.

Same problem as everyone else. Hope it gets fixed soon.

I am having the same issue. Randomly started today. My home calendar is changing from orange to blue on all my devices. Frustrating!
