Cannot Turn Off Find My iPhone There was a problem deregistering this iPhone with iCloud. Try turning Find My iPhone off again

I can not turn off my find my iphone 5 with iOS 7. I also can not find my iphone using icloud.com and most of my apps ask me to connect to icloud. It's like my phone thinks I am connected to icloud but I am not really connected. I can't force a logout of iCloud unless I can log out of find my iphone. I have literally been stuck for two days. I have regretted going to 7 ever since.

Please help!

I had the same problem, and while following the restore factory settings and then restore from backup worked for me, this is not the first such problem I've had with i0s7 and I'm really concerned now that Apple are reminding me of all the reasons why I left Microsoft a few years back. Never ending loops of non-sensical errors "connect to iTunes to enable push notifications" whatever that means - and I have spent the last 22 years working in IT so no idea what non-tech people make of this. iCloud seems to have another set of issues for me - trying to change my primary email address has been a nightmare. Even following the restore from backup failed, and repeating the exact same step a second time worked. That, coupled with the fact that my phone is significantly slower under iOS7 (I admit it is an iphone 4) and I'm really concerned that Apple are either not testing well enough or building in a ton of bloated an unnecessary features into the OS which simply complicates the builds. The days of it all just working are gone I fear, and we're all stuck in forum **** trying to figure it out.

Must try harder Apple.

Found this article that might help:

http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4515

The section talking about "If the present owner is not prensent"

  1. Sign in to their iCloud account at www.icloud.com/find.
  2. Choose the device from their Find My iPhone device list by clicking All Devices and selecting the correct device.
  3. Click "Remove from Account" to remove the device from the account.

After the device has been removed from the previous owner’s account, turn it off by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button located on the top right side of the device. Then restart your device and proceed with device setup as you would normally.

I just upgraded my 4s to ios-7-0-4, in addition to wifi not working I cant find my phone through iclouds,I cant use my password, because it doesnt work, the thing is that I am a student and I made one of my most huge mistakes in my life by getting iphone 4s, I coudnt pay fro 1 month to t-monile and although I paid them for 7 month the amount of (50 to 90 euro – depending on how much I talked on the phone) they decided to cancel the contact and they gave me a fine for the entire contact, so something like 1240 euro, i should pay them, regardless of how much I have already paid them, now with this new update I feel like I am getting screwed and I can not do anything about.

who would pay 1800(estimation) euro for a stupid iphone 4S??

I dont know what to do now.

I was having the same issue with my daughter's iPad mini. Got her the new mini with retina and set it up. It was operating with ios 7.0.3 The old mini as well as my iphone 5s were at 7.0.4. Anyhow, when I went to erase all content and settings on the original mini, it would'nt deregister. I logged into iCloud thinking I'd erase it that way. No go, as all of my devices appeared 'offline' even though they were all online. I tried turning off icloud, nothing. I tried putting the mini in recovery mode and that didn't work. I got an error. So I did this: Downloaded ios 7.0.4 to my laptop itunes and updated the new mini retina to 7.0.4. Bingo bango bongo. Worked like a charm. Make sure all of your iCloud devices are on the same version of ios.

I am getting the exact same error. First, I was not able to remove Find My iPhone. So I connected the device to my MacBook to restore the device using DFU. NOW, its been 1 hour, on the Apple logo screen with a progress bar not doing ANYTHING.

I'm not sure what needs to be done now. Is it normal for it to take this long?
