Godaddy outgoing server issues on MacBook!

I use godaddy for my comany's email. I have a few employees and we are all having problems with the outgoing server. Incoming is no problem but outgoing keeps timing out. We are all using differenct ISPs. I spent 2 hours on the phone with godaddy and they're telling me the issue is on my end. Anyone else experiencing anything similar? My IPhone and IPad are sending without issues but my MacBook Pro sends sporaradically. One of my employees is having problems on his Mac Book and IPad. The workspace login site is funtioning fine. I'm at the end of my rope! Any suggestions?

I have been having problems for months. I use a MAC computer, and Ipad, an Iphone and a PC, with IMAP accounts. My emails that show on the webmail through Firefox are different from the emails that download to my other devices through imail. I had an email that popped in today at 11:55am that was time stamped Wed at 7:32 am. I have 3 email accounts on my devices and all of them work fine, except go daddy. When I spoke to go daddy their first response was "it's you, not us", as usual. When I pushed them on it that they could not even see the email in my inbox, and I sent them a screen shot, they told me that that was "just a screen shot" and I had probably deleted the email since the screen shot was taken and that is why they couldn't see it. After going round and round, and speaking to 2 supervisors, I was told that they are phasing out the webmail. There are latent delays on send/receive because of the amount of traffic on the server and they are not planning to fix it because they want everyone to move to Microsoft 360. I asked if I needed an app for that on my MAC devices and was told that Microsoft offers a tool that would need to be downloaded. Nevermind that it is more expensive. Is there a MAC friendly email server out there??

You are sending more than 250 email messages from an iphone, ipad, apple mail, or whatever mail program.. GoDaddy has a limit of 250 outbound emails (unlimited inbound emails). However, if you use GoDaddy webmail, you will have unlimited outbound.

The reason you only get 250 is too stop other mail programs from auto-sending emails (usually due from a virus).

The Solution:

1. Once you hit the 250 outbound email quota, use the GoDaddy webmail for unlimited.

2. The 250 outbound email quota is only on a 24hr limit. That means wait till midnight EST and you will start back to 0 outbound emails.

3. Or login into your GoDaddy account (on godaddy.com; not your email godaddy account), click EMAIL, click LAUNCH, locate the email address that is exceeding the quota (it will be notated by "!!!"), click the drop down list on that email address and purchase an extra 50 outbound emails for $2.99 per month.

Does that help?

Hello all,

Having the exact same problems in not being able to send. In the past, changing ports and "tinkering" with smtp settings has worked, but no definitive solution.

Should anyone find a sound solution, please do share.

Many thanks (and good luck)!!

I found a solution! I switched providers!!!! 🙂 After 2 years of this with go daddy, their total lack of support and rumors that they're doing away with email all together it was time! Good luck everyone! Link to the company I'm using below in case anyone is interested. I have a friend who has been using them for his small business and he raved about the service. I made the switch on Monday and it was completely seamless. I'm paying more than go daddy but you get what you pay for! I wasted so much time messing around with this over the course of 2 years that I'm willing to spend a little more.

Thanks for the recommendation. I've had all the issues outlined here and found that godaddy support will not fully research the problem when the workspace mail can send without issue. I spent an hour with one rep resetting everything and nothing worked.

I did find a post that outlined using your ISP outgoing smtp and that did work for my macbook.... not for my iPhone. our small company is looking to move from godaddy as we are always at various client sites and have constant issues sending mail. really unfortunate that this is such an issue that godaddy refuses to acknowledge.

thanks everyone for making me feel a bit sane trying to figure this out.

I Have the same issues on my MacbookPro, iPad, and iPhone. I think I am on to something. I go into mail settings on the iPad. I change the SMTP setting to require name and password to send. If I only enter a password with no login name, I get verified and it accepts my account. However, when I go back to mail and send something, it will time out. Returning to settings, the password is now removed from settings, and I start over. I tried this on my BookPro and the iPhone as well with the same results. At this point I assume that the go daddy server is looking for a password only and mac will not allow you to send only a password to a SMTP server. This does not make a lot of sense as you can't use a password without a login name. If anyone is having similar success with this trick and can verify what I have done, it would help. If this does work, who do we contact to fix this?

I am having intermittant connectivity issues betwen Macbook Air and GoDaddy. On initial setup email sending was erratic and now I cannot get connectivity. Have tried changing SSL On and Off with different port numbers, tried resetting my pasword in GoDaddy - Europe settings. Tried three calls to GoDaddy no luck, was told by one GoDaddy support staff member that they don't support Mac!

Any suggestions as to what other settings or fixes I could try beyond seeking an alternate vendor?
