How do I turn off the "cellular data is turned off for "podcasts"" message?

I keep getting this message or one like it for every app with the cellular data turned off when I am not connected to wifi. Is there a way to make this message go away like the don't show message in the future option windows gives users? I understand it probably helps users that aren't very knowledgable when it comes to using their phone but I do and it is very annoying. It was less annoying a message like it for location services but now I have to tap away the message 10 or more times a day.

You are not alone in this very annoying and stupid problem. It makes it worse when you get a equally stupid response like the one from "anilsudhakaran". This is one of those issues that no matter how many times we ask the question and show that something needs to be fixed but get nothing but silence from apple.

This particular problem is acutally become a driving hazard because you want to be able to listen to a podcast or audio book in the car but keep having to respond with more taps to this ridiculuous popup message before you can do anyhting else with the phone.

APPLE FIX THIS!

I have been billed several hundred dollars each the past two monts for listening to podcasts while I walked my dog. I thought "download" meant "download" to my iphone when I am at home using wireless. I denied one request to use cellular, while walking, but never saw another. Apparently, I've been calling people and staying on the phone for 45 minutes every morning. I cannot believe this! This month I could have bought a Galaxy.

Now I find an "add to on the go" choice if you dive deeper into the info section of a particular podcast. Otherwise, "downloading" on your wireless network, is just permission to gouge the **** out of you when you take a walk and listen to those "downloaded" podcasts delivered over cellular exchange. I can even see the circular icon pretending to be installing or "downloading" the podcast when I click on the cloud/arrow downward icon. And the list of "my podcasts" shows you have 3 of this podcast and 5 of that podcast, with no warning whatsoever that these don't exist on your phone!

If you disable all cellular you can't get essential things like weather radar. If I could login (which I can't, another story) I will know if this works. I don't know if selecting Podcasts individually to disable Podcasts using cellular works, some say it doesn't, but drilling down and using "add to on the go" for each podcast you want might be the safest. What a ripoff!

I am going to protest my bill and will keep this forum informed.

No. And this is not a bug, I looks like Apple is selling or sharing data information or tracking some kind of usage patterns and this is there so that you won't keep the setting. It is only annoying if you set it this way. If used as is right out of the box and you don't care about how much data is used, then this won't bother you at all.

For example, I turn on cell data when I use the WAZE app, so that I can navigate Chicago traffic efficiently. I keep it off for Safari and Chrome. So I cannot access data in Safari and Chrome unless I'm in a WIFI zone, however, even though I am in a WIFI zone, it still reminds me that Cell Data is turned off for these programs. The only work arround that has worked is to acknowledge this when it first displays and select "Settings". Although this only works as long as the app is running. Double Click main button to see which apps are currently open. But if you restart the phone, or close the app, then open it again, it reappears.

I wish there was a way to turn off iOS Notification and just go to a LOG. But that would be TOO Computer Person Like of an expectation for Apple Designers.

I hope the people at Apple can reincorporate some of the "Jobs" era, where customer/user experience was paramount, or at least in the top echelon. I believe it’s currently a "back seat" consideration. The irritating message that “Cellular Data Is Turned Off For %Appname%”, discussed here in this Apple.com discussions public forum, and Apples refusal to change it, is case in point. This “feature” may be performing as Apple and the cellular carriers designed it too, but it is not what consumers want. In fact, this “Feature” lacks the ability to perform as the consumer asked. If the user SPECIFICALLY takes the time & trouble to learn where the settings are to limit data consumption & control cost, they should not be constantly bombarded by an annoying message regarding a situation they are already financially & painfully aware of, and went so far as to manually turn data use off. Take a moment to recall the Apple ads where the annoyance of the User Account Control feature included in Windows Vista sold many Macs. I guess the tables have turned. So, here are my questions; Are Apple & the wireless carriers colluding to cause users to consume more data? Is there some contract the carriers have over Apple that prohibits this message from being permanently disabled? If the answer is truly “NO” on both counts then there is a simple solution I would like to suggest. Simply include a checkbox in the setting for each app that cellular data has been turned off for, that instructs iOS to “Do Not Warn That Cellular Data Is Turned Off For %Appname%”, or maybe a “global” setting for all apps, that instructs iOS to “Do Not Warn That Cellular Data Is Turned Off”. So, I would like to challenge EVERYBODY at Apple to stand up and have the guts to fix this super extremely annoying & downright dangerous alert message. PLEASE give us the ability to permanently dismiss this alert message.

I want to report that my complaint with AT&T prompted them to "investigate". I've always used less than 70 minutes and then the usage shot up to 500 minutes for a number of months. The results of the investigation is I got about $40 knocked off a $182 bill for January.

What is unsettling is that a guy from AT&T called and wanted to know my ICCID. So, I believe they had the wrong one and will be writing a letter to them.

I too have cellular for many apps turned off in system preferences. And yes, the phone makes me aware of the cellular being turned off every time I listen to podcasts I've ALREADY DOWNLOADED!

Totally off the subject, except for Apple arrogance, I regret buying the iPad Mini. You cannot email to groups, only one address at a time, and there is no flash. What camera comes with no flash?

Indeed

works only to remove the message, still it tryes to download podcast anyway.

So need to get back to previous state and annoying message.

My idea is not even to preserve traffic,

but i have downloaded podcats # 1,4,7 for example, and i want to listen to them, without tryng to play all that was in between via 3g, and without app reminding that i disabled cellular data for it.

this Podcast app is killing me....

I don't use podcasts, but I was able to turn the annoying notifications off on my apps. I have an AT&T iPhone 5s. Settings -> Notification Center -> "App of Choice" -> Show in Notification Center (slide to green/on). Then the message shows up in the Notification Center, instead of in the middle of your screen while you're trying to use your app. I hope this works for you all, as well.

How do I turn off the "cellular data is turned off for "podcasts"" message?
