iOS7 podcasts don't show up on iPhone

iOS7, on Mac can move podcasts to a playlist, but they don't show up on the device (iPhone or iPad), so I can't play any podcasts anymore! Was fine in iOS6.x. Anyone else see this problem? Any fix in the works? Very frustrating! I can't believe this wasn't caught in QA.

Yes! I'm having the same problem and I've already checked the settings to keep all podcasts.

I can see the episodes (in this case it there were 5 episodes) transfering to the Iphone. But when I check the Iphone maybe 2 or 3 will appear and that's it. Sometimes there will be old ones that are no longer even on the list in Itunes.

On the app itself I tried scrolling to see more but can't.

However, if I delete the visible ones in the app then the remaining ones will suddenly appear. So, the problem isn't simply the transfer it's the podcast app I would think.

Same issues here. Only one podcast shows up in Podcast app on device, even though all of them get copied to the device. I have been struggling with this issue since last fall when I purchased two new iOS devices, after years of using an older iPod Touch. I am unable to listen to Podcasts on either of my new devices and I have to keep my old iPod around just to listen to Podcasts.

I believe it has something to do with mp3 ID tags. Something changed when the introduced the Podcast app and iTunes does not give you the ability to edit those ID tags.

I have been waiting at least 5 months and no telling how long it has been like this before that. I fear Apple will never address this and Podcast users are simply SOL.

Too bad. Podcasts used to be one of Apples finest features and one thing that made all my Android friends envious.

iOS7.0.6 Podcast 2.0.2 iPhone 5S MacBook Air (mid 2012) OS X 10.8.5 iTunes 11.1.5 (5)

I don't like the pervasive nature of iCloud and I have it as turned off as I can.

Mostly I sync through a cable between my Mac and my iOS devices.

Suddenly after a recent update (several things at once so I can't be specific) podcasts stopped updating

(previously worked fine with settings:

- iTunes > device > Podcasts > sync all unplayed Podcasts > checked

- Wifi on phone OFF

- iTunes > Summary > Options >Sync with this iPhone over WiFi > unchecked

)

I noticed my iPad2 iOS7.0.6 had no such problem (after an initial sync which duplicated many podcasts only on the iPad, it is now OK.)

only obvious difference - WiFi on iPad2 is ON

- iTunes > Summary > Options >Sync with this iPad over WiFi > unchecked !!!

Turned WiFi on iPhone ON

left all other settings the same

synced again

Podcasts on phone all synced (and even no duplicates - had to manually clean up old podcasts on phone that previous syncs had not deleted even though they were no longer in iTunes.)

On available information (to me) it makes no logical sense - but it works.

Apple support types who know what environment switches the iTunes and Podcasts apps are looking at may be able to work out why this happens.

In the mean time - Empirical Results Rule OK!

Hope this saves some of you some time and frustration.

PS. surely "unplayed" should mean "not FULLY played" it really irks me that things I have started listening to and which the app knows are only partially played are not synced if you set it to "sync all unplayed Podcasts".

Two things.

1. iOS seems to work well with Podcasts 2.0. I tested this on an iPad mini that I don't use for podcasts. It synched, updated and deleted correctly. So assuming nothing else comes up, in a few days I'll probably be installing 7.1 on my iPhone.

2. On downgrading, do you have a copy of Podcasts 2.0 on a backup, TimeMachine, or another iOS device or on a flash drive?

Recently I noticed this problem after having the latest version of iTunes and iOS 7.1 software on my iPhone 5c. When I synced my podcast to my iPhone they would appeared greyed out but on iTunes they would say that they were transferred over.

So, the solution for me was to turn on my WiFi or Cellular Data and go to the Podcast app and refresh the podcast and after a few seconds the podcast I added were no longer greyed out!

The problem is that the solution of turning on wi-fi or cellular data isn't acceptable to me. I have low bandwidth caps on both. Podcasts including Librivox.com books are my primary form of entertainment. I would blow through my bandwidth cap because rather than playing from the synced podcasts that I downloaded to my iPhone from iTunes on my MBP, the Podcasts app 2.0.2 streams them even though they are already downloaded.

I can make 2.0 work the way I need it to, but 2.0.2 is a disaster for me.
