How can I cure "accountsd quit unexpectedly"?

I just updated my Mac Pro from 10.6.8 to 10.8.5. Just as the Finder starts and every ten seconds or so afterward I get this error message. How can I eliminate it?

Mac Pro, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5), 16 GB RAM, 4 internal disks

This is just a general reply to Linc Davis,

Numerous or better countless times when I was desperate to thrash my mac a solution that you left in many of the support pages saved me from becoming a rage monster and returning back to productivity. So a great thank you for all your assistance that you continue to offer to us less knowledgeable folks. Apple should really be extremely grateful for you being around and sharing your knowledge.
