MacBook Air iSight camera stopped working after latest firmware update

Agreed JP. Seems a reset fixes the issue temporarily but 19 out of 20 times when I run something needing the camera (Photo Booth, Facetime, Skype, Hangouts ...) "NO CAMERA AVAILABLE".

My issue for built-in camera is not persistent, however whenever I need the camera feature it showed the frustrating "no-built in camera" signals.

I leave in the U.S. and my parents are overseas, I need to use skype to contact them frequently. Whenever the problem incurred I went to Apple store the next day, the camera worked properly at the store like nothing happened. Some of the hardware parts have been replaced in my mac but it seems to me the problem still resisted. so stubborn!

That is exactly what I have on my rMBP Early 2013. Latest OS, all firmware updates. Clue anyone?

I'm having this same problem. I regain the camera when I revert to a backup before the last update (10.9). As soon as I upgrade to 10.9.2 again, I have the same problem. I've attempted to locate a driver download, with no avail...

Same problem here, i run the mac pro 2009 in snow leapard the camera work fine, but not on the latest version of osx.

Yep...same problem with me. I did an update (Mavericks) and I lost the camera on my MBA. I've tried with different accounts and with different apps. Sys Profile doesn't indicate there is a camera at all. I have tried all the resets...no luck.

This issue just cropped for my macbook air 2012 13inch. Never had isight problem before in Mavericks or previous OS X version. I can't say that the update caused the issue for sure, but as far as I can tell after the 10.9.4 update my isight is intermitently recognized (mainly not). I have tried everything listed on forums here with no luck. Yesterday I thought it was a hardware issue for sure, but today I opened from sleep and it worked in FaceTime and photobooth and was recognized in system profiler! However, after reopening FaceTime it appeared dead again. Restarted, tried all previous troubleshooting and nothing. Now I don't know whether the issue is software or hardware. Disappointed with Apple in either case.
