Choir "oo's" "uu's" and "mm's" don't work

In Logic Pro X, with the smart controls on choir samples, there are buttons to switch between different sounds like "aa" "oo" "uu" and "mm", but no matter which one is selected, it always comes out as an "aa".

Anyone else noticed this? Anyway to actually get those sounds??

Thank you very much for clearing that up.

I went to my EXS instrument and clicked on edit. I see how my ModWheel can select the uu and oo and ahs but I still can't get the knobs or buttons

when I press the B (opens smart controls)

When I do open the smart controls I get envelope and decay etc.

Am I pressing the right keystroke?

Are the ahs and oos knobs window opened by showing the smart controls?

Thank you, I found it.

You're right. I was trying to get there by opening the EXS24 and going to that Choir setting.

I just opened a new empty Software track and went to the Library on the left.

I've seen them before but for some reason I just assumed it was the EXS 24.

I'm guessing this is the fastest way to open up the Library is to open an empty Software track.

Also, It seems as if there is a bit of crossover as far as what instruments are available here.

What would thew benefit be either way?

Is just opening the sounds in the Library easier on CPU?

Are there benefits for both?

EDIT

I've been going back and forth between the EXS and the Library sounds (one on one track one on another)

It seems the Library settings have more options than the EXS version of the same instrument.

For example,

the Celtic Hammered Dulcimer (library) has Trill and Ornamentation whereas the EXS version doesn't.

The Boys Ensemble choir in EXS and the Library And the Factory settings in the Legacy area have all different settings and controls available to them.

I'm going to be lost in pages of menus for the next few days.

(If theres a web site that has this stuff written down that would be appreciated, if not, sitting down and learning it would be beneficial in the long run)

Thank you again for the insight.

One question.

Why the discrepancy between choosing a male choir in the EXS GUI and choosing the "same" patch in the Library?

Drew

This is because a preset in the EXS24 is just that.. a single sound or preset.... and nothing else...

A library patch is or can be several things grouped together.. like for example.. an EXS24 preset + a FX plugin + an EQ setting + a Midi FX... plus specific controls to match/enhance the patch....
