Hello Aldase,
Congratulations on your new iPhone! It sounds like your new iPhone has Activation Lock setup by the previous owner. I am sure you are eager to start using your new iPhone, but before you can, you will need to contact the previous owner to be able to use your new iPhone:
What if I purchase a device that is still linked to the previous owner's account?
Contact the previous owner as soon as possible and ask them to erase the device and remove it from their account. For complete instructions, read how to remove a device from a previous owner's account.

The previous owner can follow the steps below to remove the iPhone from their account:
If the device has already been erased
If the previous owner is not present
Contact them and ask them to follow these steps to remove the device from their account:
- Sign in to their iCloud account at www.icloud.com/find.
- Choose the device from their Find My iPhone device list by clicking All Devices and selecting the correct device.
- Click "Remove from Account" to remove the device from the account.
After the device has been removed from the previous owner’s account, turn it off by pressing and holding the Sleep/Wake button located on the top right side of the device. Then restart your device and proceed with device setup as you would normally.
If the device has not been erased
If the previous owner is not present
Make sure the device is powered on and connected to a Wi-Fi or cellular network. Then contact the previous owner and ask them to follow these steps:
- Sign in to their iCloud account at www.icloud.com/find.
- Select the device from their Find My iPhone device list by clicking All Devices at the top of the screen.
- Erase the device by clicking the Erase button. This will erase all content and settings from the device. When prompted, do not enter a phone number or message. Click Next until the device is erased.
- When the erase is complete, click "Remove from Account" to remove the device from the account.
After the device has been erased and removed from the account, you can proceed with the device setup process.

DOne removing my iphone from owner's icloud..but still activation lock.. Pls help
If it is still activation locked you did not remove it from the owner's iCloud. You cannot remove it; only the owner can.
There is NO POSSIBLE WAY to bypass Activation Lock unless the owner of the account it is locked to cooperates. See: Find My iPhone Activation Lock: Removing a device from a previous owner’s account

But not savvy enough to realise Tonefox was responding ,he is not the one with a problem 😁
If you read back through this two year long thread, you will see that nobody, and I mean no one else, but the original owner can disable activation lock. If you don't know the previous owner or have no contact with them, there is nothing you can do to bypass activation lock.
As has been stated over and over again in this thread and elsewhere, only the previous owner can unlock a phone which has been 'Activation Locked'. If you cannot contact them then the phone is permanently useless. Apple cannot unlock it for you and neither can anyone else.

same problm here plz help
As has already been explained, only the previous owner can help you by either giving you the ID and password, or removing the phone from his list of devices. Apple cannot unlock it for you. if you cannot contact the previous owner or persuade him to help you then the phone is permanently useless.

Has anyone found the answers??
Yes: the answer (as stated over and over again in this and other threads) is that if a second-hand phone is Activation Locked only the person who set it can unlock it. There is no workaround. The system is an anti-theft device, designed to make stealing an iPhone an unattractive proposition since it will be useless, and as such has effected a considerable reduction in the number of thefts. If there was a workaround there would be no point in having it in the first place.
Please forgive this thought in advance but I have experienced the bizarre teen years of three boys that eventually became fine young men. Is it possible that your son has somehow replaced the iPhone that was handed down?
I agree with Lawrence that a "friend" might have activated the device (either accidentally or as a prank). However, it also occurred to me that if the original was lost or damaged, your son might have tried to replace it by purchasing a similar device on Craig's list or eBay.
Either way, I believe that the device can never be used without that original activation credential. I researched this extensively after my iPhone 6 Plus was stolen last year. The "activation lock" function is intended to render a stolen iPhone as completely worthless. While I am sorry you're in this situation, I completely support the "activation lock" feature as it has reduced the theft of iPhone devices.
Please take the time to read the thread. There is NOTHING that you can do without the previous owner's information. No one here works for Apple, and Apple will not even assist you with the previous owner's information. The phone is USELESS to you.

I did say that it was bought from a reputable auction site selling
recovered police property items, so does that not make me the owner !
Maybe, take the phone and proof that the original owner transferred ownership to you to an Apple Store and ask them to unlock it.

If you can no longer contact the person that sold you this iPhone, it is more than likely stolen. If so, it is now worthless. You should throw it away. Tell everyone you know to beware of this situation.
I do not know who he is, let alone how to contact him.
If you can't contact him the phone is useless to you, take it back and get a refund.
Then take it back and get a refund from this "reputable site" that sells recovered property while it is still locked.
Then take it to the police and give them all the information you have on the seller. It's probably a stolen phone.
