Itunes crashes under windows 8.1

Sooo I opened C:/Program files(x86)/Common Files and there is no iTunes or Apple folder. I just did a clean install of iTunes and it's still crashing.

i tried the copy and paste trick but it did not fix my crash problem does anyone have a different trick to try or am i just stuck until apple puts out a fix?

In another post t was said that iTunes depends on a working QuickTime installation. So try to uninstall/install apple Quicktime (the free version is good enough) and then you should have that file where it was said above.

Thank you, it worked. I don't believe this stupid bug has never been detected in testing.

I had this problem, if you do a clean re install of iTunes it has no effect - does not work. You can set up the whole thing again using a different user account on your PC not very elegant but it works. See my post from last week on how to do Mark Juston's fix, if you can't find it let me know and I will re post it.

i had this problem too, here is my solution:

goto Systemvariables and add ";C:\program files (x86)\common files\apple\apple application support\" to the variable "Path". Now you can restart iTunes and it will work!

Likewise, thank you so much. worked for me too. For the person that was curious how to do this; just go to the first directory copy the file, go to the second directory and paste the file easy peazy. O course, you probably already did it by now, eh.
