NICE!! it worked for me too...so is anybody else wondering why it was on russia´s apple page and not on the U.S one??? i sort of expected a bit more from apple in fixing such a small or easy issue in my opinion
Oooh I feel bad . . . I just downloaded the QT 7.1.3 update and I get a message saying it can't install on my mini because it does not support the Mac's language I think I may have hosed the system with this Russian fix!
I have AppleCare, and I'm on hold right now, if I get a solution from Apple I will promptly post it here.
I hope no one else has this problem, I would feel bad because I was the one who mentioned the Russian Photobooth update in the first place.
Well, their advice was to archive and install, but I decided it was time for a good cleaning, so I backed up my home folders (and some non-baseline apps like Photobooth) to an external drive, zeroed out my hd, reinstalled Tiger.
Photobooth works (with Pop-Art!), QT 7.1.3 installed, iTunes 7 installed, cookies and keychains back in place, everything happy.
oh man....i have no idea what to do now..i cant update either anybody know a step by step way of fixing what we´ve done?? if you guys could be so kind of course..thanks!
i also tried installing 10.4.7 back again but it gives me an error of not fulfilling certain requirements...
Hey guys ~ it's not that bad. Your EASIEST option is to 'install and archive' using the original CD (#1) that came with your machine. I did this last night. I DID however customize my install (you can click on 'customize' before actually installing).
I unchecked just about everything except the OS and Photobooth. I have iLife '06 installed on my machine and didn't want it to install iLife '05. All is well and was worth the little effort.
When using the 'Software Update' afterward, I did NOT update to 10.4.7...assuming that I'd screw up my Photobooth again :o) So, we'll wait and see what Apple comes up with before I do that again. All other updates completed successfully.
