ios 7 does not sync with itunes via WIFI

Since loading IOS 7 I am unable to sync to itunes over WFI. I must connect via usb to my computer.

I have the option sync with WIFI selected on itunes but it seems to make no difference.

Does anyone have any work around?

Hi everyone.

Lately I experienced the same trouble/issue with iTunes and my iPhone 4S as well as with my iPad mini, both running iOS7.0.6.

The weird thing was that iTunes recognized my old iPad 1 running on an older iOS.

So, the WiFi syncing worked for the iPad 1 and at the same time iTunes would not sync my iOS7 units - only when attached to my iMac through USB-cable.

The iMac´s OS is Mavericks and the latest iTunes 11.1.5.

After hours of trial and error (like everything possible explained here, in other forums and almost every support page I could find) as well as many hours and quite some sessions on the phone with Apple support (who couldn´t help me either) I finally got both - the iPhone 4S as well as the iPad mini - back to regular WiFi syncing by simply restoring/resetting both units with iTunes.

So, the iOS software has been freshly installed.

And after a regular backup-restoring directly from my iMac using iTunes everything works fine again.

Simple as that.

Maybe for some of you this might be helpful, although it takes some (waiting-) time depending on the size of the data/backup to be put back on the devices.

Might be interesting to know that the problems occurred after upgrading my Iphone and iPad mini directly on the devices with the iOS7.0.6 that has been downloaded wireless to them. The direct download/restoring with the iOS directly from the iMac via USB-cable seemed to be the difference that solved the issue.

Hi everyone.

Im running iPad 2 with iOS 7.1 and latest itunes 11.1.5 version.

I made a backup before installing 7.1 ( almost always had issues syncing itunes over wifi on previous iOS versions). Well I decided to make something to cut the evil at once. Tried installing 7.1 as a new ipad and than restore it with the latest backup (not iCloud but PC). The wifi sync was missing over and over again (tried 2 restores from zero as a new ipad).

So the last chance was restoring directly from the backup, and voilá, worked!

Well is too early to make sure lol, but I transferred all of my library via wifi sync ,everything and worked brilliantly.

Backing up as a new ipad only worked for the first time connecting but loses the sync if i would enter to ipad app over itunes and than, never synced again (even restarting the apple mobile service on Services).

I have spent the last Month trying to fix my Itunes WIFI sync problem , not recognising then recognising for a second then disconnecting.

I have read every article on the Web to help me fix it and still wont work.

So i decided to just do what i do best and defeat the problem with Logic.

To cut a long story short i found out samsung Kies was the problem.

Go to Programsx86 : Show all : find the Kies folder uninstall the program.

If that dont work back up Registry open regedit search for Kies and delete it from all registrys.

If that dont work then reinstall USB driver pack Intels ect.

I have done this on my PC my wifes and my Brothers now all work with WIFI sync.

Its working perfectly now so much so every Apple product in the house sings in when i open Itunes.

And warning next time you plug in your Samsung tablet or Phone the PC will reinstall kies and the problem will start again.

Im hoping this fix will solve the problem for most of you , fingers crossed.

Thank you for your answer.

I thought the modem/router was the main responsable for the problem.

I've been thinking buy a Airport Express/Extreme to make clearly my problem, but ok don't know...

Don't understand why USB connection is responsable for wifi sync problem...Does itunes use it do make wifi connection thinking it's the first time that we connect iphone by usb to itunes before clicking the Summary option"Sincronizing over wifi"?

Thank you friend

I have the same problem, iTunes refuses to recognize my iPhone (on Windows 7).

I did some debugging and found out, each time iTunes doesn't recognize it, the ATH.EXE process failes to start.

When it does recognize it (each time, ONLY after the iPhone was rebooted) the ATH.EXE process is started normally (by iTunes.exe) and adds the iPhone in iTunes.

During the test, no firewall or anti-virus was active.

What i am unable to check, is if the iPhone announces itself properly, on the network.

Maybe someone with a little network knowledge could check that out.

Anyway, hope this helps in tracing the problem.
