iTunes Store not working on Windows 8.1

I upgraded my laptop to Windows 8.1 from Windows 8. iTunes works fine as in the music plays etc. But when I click on 'iTunes Store', it doesn't load and says that iTunes has stopped working. Can someone please find a solution to this problem ASAP. Thank you.

i am having this same problem. "itunes store stopped working" and closes itunes after upgrade to 8.1. I uninstalled all my apple sw (in the presribed order) and reinstalled and still am having the same problem.

i am going to try the manual fix suggested above (copying QTMovieWinn.dll), and will report back, but I wonder why this should be the source of the problem. Has anyone at Apple recognized this problem???

OK the fix seems to work so far, but beware those of you who installed itunes to a custom folder during installation, copying the file into C\:program files\itunes does NOT do the trick, you have to (also??) put it in the custom folder you installed to. Might seem obvious, but thought I'd share nonetheless.

Nothing works for me 😟 I can't uninstall itunes but it doesn't show in my uninstall program (in control panel), and I can't uninstall quicktime because it is also not showing as installed (but I know that it is, just like I know that itunes is because I have it open right now) It just won't load the store. I looked under: Apple, iTunes, etc. in uninstall program list.

Your solution worked. Thanks.

I spent the better part of 2 hours speaking to level 2 Apple techs before being told this was not an Apple problem and to contact Microsoft. During the last 2 days I spent the better part o 3 hours on the phone and remotely connected with Microsoft techs who could not find the problem. Your solution worked.

The first level 2 tech that I dealt with said he had to do some research on this problem and that he would get back to my cell phone. I never heard from him despite sending him several follow up emails asking for progress on his work. I reported this to the last Apple level 2 tech I spoke with. I just sent a message to the unresponsive Apple level 2 tech telling him to share your solution with his colleagues. My message bounced back. Presumably he is no longer with Apple!
