Swipes in Safari stop working

Hi All,

I have no Better tool ot jtool installed, but I did have MagicPrfes which alters the mouse input.

Just uninstalled it. and at the moment all working fine.

I have no reset PRAM.

I wll keep you updated.

I had a similar issue with continuous scrolling in Calendar.

rMBP's internal trackpad worked fine but the Magic Tracked refused to scroll continuously between weeks.

Turning off and on again the Magic Trackpad fixed the issue.

Resetting bettertouchtool did not fix the problem after all. I also had jitouch installed but I uninstalled it quite a while ago while I was on mountain lion. It seems we may be onto something though with these trackpad altering apps (magicpregs/btt/jitouch).

Resetting magicprefs to default then adding my settings again and removing jitouch (which I didn't realize I still had installed) has fixed this for me so far.

abross86, I don't have bettertouchtool installed but I do have bettersnaptool installed which is from the same company. I think we might be on to something here.

I've exactly the same problem: sometimes, when I use my trackpad, the page on Safari just freeze. I've to quit Safari and re-open it. Then it freeze again... I can't use my trackpad "tricks" on Safari anymore. I hope Apple will make a correction of this because the resetting of the PRAM just work for a while...

I've uninstalled bettertouchtool and removed any related files I could find. For now I'm switching to magicprefs. I also disabled any internet plug-ins in my library folder except for flash just in case those were causing issues. I've been using safari and chrome now for a few hours and the problem hasnt come back yet. I also have bettersnaptool installed but it isnt running.

I've removed MagicPrefs from autostart programs, rebooted and still no freezes at all (for three or four hours uptime). Hope that fixed it.

Go to settings and select your mouse. Click one finger swipe on. It is turned off by default. Problem solved. 🙂

All day working without any issue after uninstalling Magicprefs.

Thank you this resolved the issue I was having where my tap to click wouldn't work, and several of the 3 finger options wouldn't work. Even though they were enabled in the trackpad settings.

Zapping the P-Ram fixed the issue. Thank you

I would like to point out that I'm experiencing this problem and I don't have any software that is trackpad or mouse related.

genius 🙂 ... many thanks, this was really bugging me, didn't realise that Mavericks would uncheck the swipe setting.
