iTunes sync still getting stuck on "waiting for changes to be applied" with the latest iTunes 11.1.2 and iOS 7.0.3!

Anyone having this same problem? I need my iPad to sync! efclvkjhbsdfvlkj

In my case I'm finding that the "waiting for changes to be applied" is really the lack of better reporting from itunes. It's doing everything it's supposed to do it's just not telling you exactly what it's doing... meaning instead of stating that it's syning songs "a" then "b" then "c" it just has a static "waiting for changes to be applied". Once the operation is finished it ungracefully completes the sync.

Again, this is what I'm experiencing. I've tested this out by removing songs and adding them, the actions take place all the while the message is a static "waiting for changes to be applied".

Problem is, I have not seen this behavior before iTunes 11.1.2 or

iOS 7.0.3 and have not added or changed anything on my iPhone

between the previous versions and current versions. So, there is

nothing new to sync.

BTW, watching Activity Monitor during this stage shows iTunes using

more CPU than than when idle (~7% vs. ~1%). And there is no other

activity be it disk or network. iTunes seems to be just spinning its

wheels when this happens.

Had the same problem. Upgraded to iOS 7.0.3 on both iPhone5 and iPad2. After the upgrade the iTunes would hang at the last stage of the sync process on the iPad2 (but not the iPhone5).

I just did a hard reboot of the iPad2 (press and hold the home button and the power button for about 10 seconds and then press the power button to restart). Restarted iTunes. Hooked up the USB cable and voila! It now works fine.

Hey! This is getting more and more like my Windows PC! Things start to hang, just hard reboot the machine 😉

A quick work around I discovered after resetting iPad to new iPad. iPhone was showing the same problem, so just unclicked sync music, then did workaround on iPhone, which worked well.

It does appear to be the music sync that is the problem so...

Sync Apps, books, tones, etc. each as a separate sync although you might not need to do that. I was being thorough.

Then, make sure settings are the same as they were before upgrade to Maverick, eg. Import as ALAC. This did speed things up for me considerably (After new install of maverick, iTunes, default appears to bee AAC) I speculate that the settings didn't match what was on iPhone and iPad.

Then when all done, synch music, this worked a treat for me.

Similar to mine (problem)... Copy paste:

"

Some people have problems to with the music sync but anyone has the same problem but with the photos? iTunes doesn´t count the number of photos that suposse to be listed when you select your album on itunes/device/photos... I have once the problem with the music but it cames right when i resync my playlist.

Thnks!

Test on iPhone 5 and iPad2 Mavericks iTunes 11.1.2 and iOS 7.0.3 Same problem with iPhoto 9.4.3 and 9.5."

If the iPad/iPhone are having to re-sync all pictures and music after this upgrade (I can't confirm that this is what is happening), then the first sync is going to take a long time if you've filled up that 32GB or 64GB of space.

The USB 2.0 spec maxs the transfer rate at 35MB/second. The iPad/iPhone transfer rate is going to be something south of that, for arguments sake say 10MB/second. Thats 600MB a minute. Divide that into 50GB of music and pictures you could be waiting for 83 minutes for your first sync after the iOS 7.0.3 upgrade. Stopping it after 20 minutes might be way to soon. To be certain, let it run for 2 hours if you've got a full up 64GB unit just to make sure you are not terminating this process too early.

But if it is only the case that the process needs all this time, wouldn't the little sync icon on the iDevice (the two rotating arrows on the top left) remain in view and rotating? i thought that since it is saying "waiting for changes to be applied" but the icon disappered, it means that the sync is not actually happening. do you get what i mean? am i wrong in thinking this?

I did a sync earlier today between my iMac with Mavericks and my iPhone 5 with iOS 7.0.3, and using iTunes 11.1.2 and I only wish I had kept my eyes on the circular arrows you are talking about. I know that the Step 8 of 8 took a very long time, and I was concerned that the process was not going to finish ...but it did, and everything works great.

Based on 18.6GB to sync, it would probably take 31 minutes to sync (It could theoretically be as fast as 7.75 minutes as full USB 2.0 speed, which is not likely). After the first sync, it should go very fast (a few seconds if little has changed).

It would be interesting to see what other users experience to see if this is the problem (iphone/ipad doing a full data re-sync after the upgrade). Take your used data space (viewable from iTunes in the Device view) and divide that number (in GB) by .6 for the probable time in minutes to do this first sync (divide by 2.4 for the theoretical fastest time in minutes). Wait the longest time (typical) before stopping the process to see if it completes.

Hey....it's a thought. It would be nice to have a definitive answer.

How does iTunes sync songs to the iPhone? Is it in order?

I've got about 4,400 songs in my library. I sync and get the "copying song 1 of 4,400" message. After 20 minutes or so, it finishes and then I get stuck on the "waiting for changes to be applied step."

I did another restore and watched as it copied songs and it kept skipping over songs as it copied. Is that normal?
