As you go through the new Pages 5 can you please add an added, missing or altered features here please.

I will start with some culled from the general discussions and if you could correct any errors add them:

Added

2. Outline view appears gone

3. Customizable Toolbar is gone

4. Many templates appear gone

10. Retain zoom level of document gone

11. Facing pages gone

12. Endnotes gone

13. Media Inspector can't find iPhoto library on external drive

14. Update is missing for older installations, Apple is reportedly working on a solution via a redeemable code or update on the ir Support Download site

Altered

1. Language set under Edit > Spelling and Grammar > Show Spelling and Grammar now document wide

2. Subscript/superscript text is now a convoluted route Gear > Advanced options > Baseline > Subscript/Superscript

3. Header appears to be multi-column

Letting you know I can't test or verify any of these as I haven't got Mavericks yet.

I figured out a compromise; I made the section that I wanted to be "3.a." a subsection of "3." by further indenting it and changing its list-item to the letter "A." (and did the same for the next section with "B."). I'd still prefer to have them aligned with the top-list items and just labeled "3.a." / "3.b.", but it gets the job done.

Thanks again.

Edited for grammar.

Two articles I have found on the subject of the new iWork suite:

By Jean-Louis Gassee ex Apple executive and creator of that wonderful OS that might have been, BeOS:

And Lawrence Lessig, Harvard Law professor, on his week from Apple ****:

Thanks for waking me up, Peter. I had almost forgotten the issue. The latest update of Pages came more than two months ago, and Apple has been incredibly quiet since then. No more fixes or reinstated functionality.

Surely their developers are doing something, but what? A problem that annoys me more than Pages is that there still is no support for the Nikon AW1 camera's RAW files. That camera was released half a year ago. If Apple chooses to dumb down their word processor and if they do not even try to support cameras by one of two biggest camera manufacturers in the world, what are they up to?

And if I may add another off-topic rant, why can I still not delete whole music albums from my iPhone? That functionality seems to have been removed in September last year with iOS 7.

Hi Magnus

Apple's self set 6 month deadline for their very shortlist of fixes for Pages 5 is almost up.

Not much in view.

…and I am off to the Genius Bar with documented proof of bad synching on my iPod Touch and Aperture.

I only do it clinch the point I have been making over a month and a half, but they have been steadfastly denying.

Apple now just denies, denies, denies and when confronted with a mountain of hard facts, they don't want to talk about it.

As their grip on smartphones, tablets etc steadily slips, and Mac sales fall, this does not bode well for anyone who has drunk the Kool Aid, knowingly or not.

I have a lot riding on Apple. I don't want to have to go back to saving all my files on NTFS drives and looking around for bolt holes if Apple goes south on me again.

What on Earth is Apple up to? Has it slipped into corporate dementia?

Am back from the Apple Store.

Raised the issue of having to constantly micromanage my Mac and iPod Touch citing Pages as an example to the "Genius".

Guess what she doesn't use iWork either!

In fact she proudly said she doesn't have a Mac, she is a PC user!!

When I said I keep meeting Apple staff who don't use their own products, I never thought I'd hit one who was so thorough! 😀
