Itunes keeps cancelling sync ???

So recently after updating to the new iOs7 , when i plugged in my ipod touch 5th gen , i proceeded to sync songs from my itunes library to my ipod but just as it copies the songs onto my ipod , its suddenly cancels sync and a few of my songs are not added onto my ipod. Any idea why this happens or what i can do to possibly fix this problem ?

All that uncheck "Sync Music", syncing and then rechecking "Sync Music" did was to remove the music from my iPhone and leave me with only a few songs. The second sync cancelled out. I've tried resetting my iPod to factory settings, going from wired sync to wifi sync and back, removing songs and playlists. This is crazy. It's happening to all of the devices in my family. Help!

ok i may have found a solution..

i had the same problem, iTunes would suddenly stop syncing and would cancel but what i realized is that out of all the songs, the ones that would not sync where the ones below a specific song. so what i did is deleted the artwork of that song, then tried syncing again. and it worked! i suggest if it doesn't work for you try deleting that one song only. if it is the same for you that all the songs below a certain song do not sync just delete the atwork, and it should work..well it worked for me this time. (:

good luck!

I had the same problem, but I was able to fix it. 1st, make sure you have enough space. Then after that if you are trying to sync more than 100 songs at once break them up into more than one playlist(Less than 100 has never been a problem for me, but if it is for you break up the play lists even more). Then sync ONE playlist at a time, after the sync is done, turn off your phone and turn it back on. The 100 songs you just synced should be there. Then do the same with your next playlist. Just remember to restart your phone every time. I hope this helps, it seemed to work for me.

also try a different cord. 😀

This really makes me wonder.... I started having a lot of issues with my iphone sync yesterday. Exact same issue everyone on this thread seems to report. Today I've just started from scratch by restoring iphone and then restoring from backup once it reinstalled iOS. I'm currently in the process of waiting the 16-20 hours needed for my music collection to transcode and sync.

But I remember I did tick the sync via wifi option yesterday as I hadn't before. I think it remained on the whole time I was having issues....

Oh my god, i was having this problem for months and there's not much to help. This might though! Start video at 2 minutes and follow what he says! Life saver, everything works now. If you can't see the video basically go to Settings>iTunes & App Store>and then TURN OFF both music and videos under "show all" after that, check your music app and the greyed out songs and stop signs should disappear!

The idea of turning off conversion of higher bitrate songs to AAC 256 format is attractive, and it's wonderful that it worked for some of you, however, my entire music library with the exception of my iTunes purchases is stored in Apple Lossless (ALAC) format. That's 4000 songs in ALAC.

I just can't hold that much on my 128 GB iPhone 6.

Any other ideas?

This worked for me: Plug in your iPod/iPhone
Navigate to the device in iTunes
Under summary, check "sync only checked songs and videos"
Go back to your iTunes songs (not your device songs)
Select all your songs
Right click > Uncheck Selection
Sync your device (This should do a blank sync for your music)
Select all your iTunes music again
Right click > Check Selection
Re-sync your device
This worked for me - hopefully this will do the trick for others.

I had this problem with the USB wire. Changed it to Sync with Wifi and that did the trick! Thought the latest IOS broke things. Not true!! Something with the wire though. Not kinked and connected directly to the iMac....hummm...weird. But at least Wifi works!!! Oh and I do have songs convert to 192kbps too. Thank goodness. Changing that to OFF would hamper my collection big time!!
