Itunes keeps cancelling sync ???

So recently after updating to the new iOs7 , when i plugged in my ipod touch 5th gen , i proceeded to sync songs from my itunes library to my ipod but just as it copies the songs onto my ipod , its suddenly cancels sync and a few of my songs are not added onto my ipod. Any idea why this happens or what i can do to possibly fix this problem ?

This is how I fixed this problem. I could not sync my iPad. When the problem began a couple of days ago, I got an alert message indicating that my computer was no longer authorized as shown in the following thread: <the iPhone could not be synced because this computer is no longer authorised for purchased items that are on this iPhone>.

None of the suggestions given in that thread solved the problem, either.

I finally followed the suggestion to restore my iPad. I connected to iTunes and did a restore to factory settings and then restored the iPad data from my backup, which is on my computer. I was then able to run sync without any issue.

I had this same problem- I have an iPhone 4 and for some reason my phone just wasn't syncing- it'd get through like 5 songs and then cancel.

Things that I did to resolve this problem:

  1. Made sure that my iTunes was updated.
  2. Recreated my iTunes Library (hold option while opening iTunes- on mac- and choose to create a new library. Make sure that you move your music to another folder while doing this, and overwrite the old library by naming it the same thing.)
  3. Restarted my computer and iPhone.
  4. Synced my phone, and it worked perfectly!

Not sure if you guys have this fixed yet however here's what worked for me --->

When sycning songs you will see what is syncing at the top in itunes. There will be a song that takes a little bit and then gets skipped and almost immediately after the next song starts, itunes will cancel. You must find the first song and remove it, then itunes will sync the rest. Then idk how to get the removed song on there....zerk

EX.

Roar is sycing.................................passed
Berzerk is syncing....failed

Remove Roar and try again to sync

**Worked for me, hoping it works for you guys :/

YES! YES! YES!.. This works!! It worked for me too after my computer overheated and shutdown during a sync session, I couldn't get it to finish the sync after restarting my computer. So I jumped onto the forum and gave this a go and it worked for me too :)

It must have been syncing THAT song when it shutdown and 'glitched' the sync session when I tried to resume it, so I just 'unticked' the first '2' songs..just to be sure ;) ..then hit the sync button again and away it went. No problems at all. And NO problems syncing the '2' songs again afterwards either, just re-ticked, pressed sync button and Viola! All good again :)

Thanks AlexTB44 for this one

There are lots of solutions here... I tried a few with no success.

I did eventually manage to fix it by turning "sync via wi-fi" OFF. I had the iPad connceted to the Mac via USB all the time but it was still cancelling.

My guess is if you have it turned on wi-fi takes priority over USB and, if wi-fi times out, the sync cancels, regardless of the USB connection.

I may be wrong... but it worked for me.

Hi all,

I found a solution so thought I would share it with you all to see if you have any successes.

N.B. The iPad will need to be restored to factory settings during this process, so would be a good idea to copy any photos etc. that you have on there to desktop to save losing them.

1. Connect iPad to iTunes (wired connection)

2. Click Restore iPad (not from backup)

3. When iPad has restored go through the set up process

4. When it comes to signing in with your Apple ID - SKIP THIS STEP!!! This is imperative!!

5. After finishing set up, iPad will appear in your iTunes

6. Sync iPad - this should then sync all of your music with no greyed out "Ghost" songs

7. Go into settings and sign in with your Apple ID

8. Sync iPad again

9. Back iPad up to the iCloud

10. Enjoy your as new iPad.

Please let me know if you thought this was helpful.

Thanks

This has just happened to me having got a new iPhone 5S. I restored the new phone from a backup of my old iPhone 4 and music just would not sync - cancelled sync and then stayed stuck on cancelling.

As an experiment, I have just tried setting it up as a 'new phone' instead and eveything syncs perfectly.

Indicates to me that the bug lies somewhere in the itunes back-up.
