Mavericks and iTunes 11.1.2 Won't wifi sync iPhone

Since updating to Mavericks and iTunes 11.1.2 itunes no longer recognizes either my iphone or ipad via wi-fi.

I have plugged them in and toggled the checkbox to no avail.

I have even restored my iphone. No deal.

If I plug them in, then I can sync. But even with the box checked to sync over wi-fi, as soon as I unplug the phone, it loses connecton.

I have also rebooted the phone and restarted my computer.

The sync over wi-fi opton is completely unavailable.

Let's see. A Samsung Galaxy runs Android and Android is the property of Google, and Google is a company who makes its money by collecting your personal data and selling it to advertisers. Google is just as much a NSA collaberator as Apple (both by rumors only). I think you need to reevaluate your claim about "brainless lemmings." But hey, whoever said rationality is involved here?

who are you?

i am florian draenert from germany. i work neither for apple nor for samsung.

1. i do not know if your are a clown or something, but mangaing my data especially my calender and my contacts is 1000% rational and i do not want usa, chinese or any other country have undisclosed access to these data as it is given in the United States of America in 2013 due to George "bourbon Whiskey"W Bush homeland acts etc.

2. samsung galaxy allows local sync without cloud.

3. surfing google has nothing to do with android system data sync as said in TOP 2

4. Hey Tim Cook boy..... give me my local sync for the iphone back!!!! steve would have done better!!!!

kisses, florian

Why not post in the correct thread then? This discussion is about syncing iOS devices to iTunes via Wi-Fi, which is very local. The Thread you want to pontificate in is here...

https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5460803?tstart=0

And you only need to use iCloud if you are not running the latest version of iTunes. Using Mavericks and iTunes does NOT require you to use iCloud. You do NOT have to sync your calender or contacts if you don't want to. You are NOT required to sign in to your iCloud account. You are NOT required to even have an iCloud account. You are NOT required to use iTunes Match. The people running on about this are the ones who refuse to update iTunes and iOS to the current versions. And again, threatening to buy a competeing product only makes you look silly and uninformed. It will not get you any sympathy here. Laughter maybe, but not sympathy. So go right ahead and leave the Apple platform. Nobody here cares one bit if you do.

You are misinformed, period.

Actually, lkrupp... florian is absolutely correct. I've spoken with 4 different Apple senior specialist and ALL confirm what florian is saying is right on. With the new version of iTunes and Maverick - Apple has stripped away the ability to sync contacts and calenders thru USB and ALL Apple specialists admit to Apple forcing us to use iCloud to sync both contacts and calenders. Not looking for sympathy - just the product I spent thousands purchasing to work the way I purchased them to work.

Florian170 - you are NOT misinformed and please keep on posting this issue. Here and the other thread.

ikrupp you are giving wrong informations! who are you? disclose your identity!

i am flroian draenert germany. you can google me.

if you are using MacOS 10.9 and itunes 11.1.3 which are the latest, then you CANNOT sync your iphone (in my case an iphone 5 with lateste iOS version) anymore.

Every other information is wrong and misleading.

you talk about this issue with Apple.

Who are you and why are you posting wrong information?

Florian, I'm afraid ikrupp is right.

I had the same problem not being able to Sync my iPhone 5S ios7 with a MacPro running OSX10.9 with iTunes11.1.3 I did some research and came up with this discussion. And this http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4062. It's an old link but now it works. I just restarted everything. Then got frustrated because it still did not work. 10 minutes later while reading this; it popped up!

So, don't ask me the exact steps. But it works...

Nov 13, 2013 7:31 AM in response to Emvee

emvee...wrong...

that is not true. and apple confirms that YOU CANNOT LOCALLY SYNC IPHONE VIA CABLE UNDER MAVERICKS COCERNING CONTACTS and CALENDER.

You can sync via wifi, if you first sync with the cloud ;-)

if you think that your wifi sync is local, then you are wrong... you may have set up yout icloud account once and activate it... if you syn via wifi then...you first sync to icloud via your computer and then back from icloud to your local calender and contacts on the mac...

good morning

Nov 13, 2013 7:40 AM in response to Emvee

the discussion should be focused on the sync function in general:

https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5460803?answerId=23771187022#23771187022&ac_cid=tw123456#23771187

and the demand for a change back:

https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5555867?answerId=23770559022#23770559022

I for myself will otherwise by another device and never use idevices again.

i am an adult. if i want to go to an xxx bookstore, i go.

if i want to keep my data local without cloud, i do. if apple treats customers like stupid zombies or littele children, i am out..

Nov 13, 2013 7:42 AM in response to Emvee

emvee... media sync is not the point.

and this is especially suspicious. it would make limited sense if apple starts with itunes music stuff this way and this would safe time. but why calender and addresse????? this are just some kb... this only makes sense for federal information gathering.

and baiting customers by offering Mavericks for free is especially ruthless...
