Mavericks and iTunes 11.1.2 Won't wifi sync iPhone

Since updating to Mavericks and iTunes 11.1.2 itunes no longer recognizes either my iphone or ipad via wi-fi.

I have plugged them in and toggled the checkbox to no avail.

I have even restored my iphone. No deal.

If I plug them in, then I can sync. But even with the box checked to sync over wi-fi, as soon as I unplug the phone, it loses connecton.

I have also rebooted the phone and restarted my computer.

The sync over wi-fi opton is completely unavailable.

Really annoying - thanks Apple. IPad & iPhone not local syching with mail, calendar, music, movie etc. since installing Mavericks. I'm assuming this is a revenue conspiracy to drive i-cloud storage usage.

Just adding my 1c as a very loyal Apple customer whose genuinely fed up. Missed 2 meetings today as my calandar entries were blank and couldn't listen to new music tracks on the way home.

Anyone got any ideas - Tim Cook, have a think about fixing this please. i-Cloud is expensive and as unsecure as all the other cloud storage offerings.

Steve Rhyne's fix worked for me too!

I may have found the fix. At least it's working for me for the time being. Create a brand new network "Location" in the "Network" pane of "System Preferences". It can't be a duplicate of your current "Location" (I tried that); it must be a brand new location:

1) Quit iTunes if it's running.

2) Select "System Preferences..." from the Apple menu in the top left corner of the screen.

2) Click once on "Network".

3) Write down or take screenshots of your network settings. [beyond the scope of these instructions]

4) Click on the "Location:" drop-down menu and select "Edit Locations...".

5) Click the "+" button to create a new location. Name it and click "Done".

6) Configure your network settings [beyond the scope of these instructions] and click "Apply".

7) Open a web browser and visit a web site to make sure your new network settings are working.

8) Open iTunes and watch your iOS devices appear again.

Hi Steve,

Sounds good that your "fix" is working - but is it taking care of the original issue? In my case - the iphone and ipad are recognized by by computer and itunes - and will transfer everything but my calender and contacts - and as previously mentioned by myself and others - this is an intentional issue caused by Apple. Hopefully Tim 'Crook' will fix this and get us back to how we all love Apple to operate and why we became Apple users in the first place. Not wanting to move back to Mountain Lion and loosing info.

Any thoughts?

Has anyone considered this possibility? Go to the Settings->General->iTunes Wi-Fi Sync and read the following...

"Automatically sync with iTunes on your computer when your iPad is plugged into power and connected to Wi-Fi"

I have noticed that my iPad used to sync over Wi-Fi without being plugged into its power adapter. Since the upgrade to iOS 7 and iTunes 11.1.2 that no longer works. I must be connected to the charger.

Notes: I'm running Mavericks OS X 10.9 and the latest version of iTunes released today (11.1.3); all my iOS devices run 7.0.3.

I had the same issue where my iPad4 and iPhone 5 were being recognized fine over my home WiFi by iTunes but not my new iPhone 5S. Mavericks had already been installed with the new iTunes before I got my iPhone 5S.

I finally got WiFi sync working with my iPhone 5S tonight from assistance from Apple tech support. Their solution was to reboot my router, do a "Forget this network" for my home WiFi on my iPhone 5S, restart the iPhone, and connect to my home network as if I was doing it for the first time.

This fixed the problem and now the iPhone 5S is always recognized by iTunes when it is on my home WiFi. I can initiate a WiFi sync (without the phone being plugged into the wall charger!) from either iTunes on my Mac or the iPhone.

Good luck!
