Thanks for your answer.

I copied th elast rule in the terminal window and understood it uses developement software to remove the PPC code. It's a little bit to technical.

For the time being I reduced my problem to scanning via WIFI.

Scanning is possible via cable & USB, but that's not the I use my scanner regulerly.

I hope Epson will still make it possible with an driver update otherwise my printer/scanner (3,5 year old) is already outdated.

Thans anyway

look like Epson is starting to release updated scanner drivers for Mavericks, depends on your model.

I was in the same boat earlier this week, Epson Scan wouldn't launch after 10.9 update so my V600 became kinda useless (yeah, I know Image Capture will work, but that's not a useful solution). I reported it to Epson as suggested above - in email reply from Epson support I was told there was no info about when the update would be available. I was not hopeful for anything any time soon, and was starting to investigate alternatives...

but I just checked the Epson website and today there's an updated scan utility v3.2.9.1. wasn't there yesterday, so just released. now Epson Scan is working for me again.

hopefully updated versions for other models will be available asap - go report the issue to Epson if you already haven't!

The same problem with my Epson Perfection 4990Photo. Contact Epson did not help. Before re-install of the Epson software, removal „Epson Scan” from the library of the MAC was not enough. Somewhere there are still hidden old and new drivers that work against each other. I have now with Finder, all sought with the name Epson and removed from the HD where the OS is on. Then I downloaded the latest software from Epson. It can not be opened because it comes from "an unknown supplier". It can still be forced open by using "finder" to go and "ctrl" key button. Then click on the file and "open" in the new window. Now one can just install and fortunately everything works back to your liking.

Finally!

Some of us can see the light at the end of the endless tunnel, it seems that Epson Scans compatible with Mavericks have been released in certain parts of the world...

I don't know why I was always checking the US page of my printer, but being a brit, I changed to epson.co.uk, and I noticed a new download for my printer, it's Epson Scan ver. 3.7.9.2EN (Universal) everybody! And it is compatible with Mavericks as well! it was released just 2 days ago but i think you guys should look check out the other websites (ie in other countries) for your printer... I don't know why it is delayed for people in the US, but hey, you should not have signed the declaration of independence in 1776, that's why 🙂!

Anyway, i don't know what the "universal" means to Epson, maybe it works for all printers....?😕

here is the link for mine: ftp://download.epson-europe.com/pub/download/3775/epson377599eu.dmg

Hope it works for you guys!

To HeleneVenge:

You have to download the ICA Scanner Driver for Image Capture for the V330

here is the link http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&oid= 154807&prodoid=63088548&infoType=Downloads&detected=yes&platform=OSF_M_X9

You have to connect it with USB or Ethernet and go to the Apple menu then software update, remember the Scanner has to be on.

Just follow the instructions on the page and please download the Scanner driver and Epson Scan utility as well, you'd better be up to date if you want it to work.

Intresting: It is not availiable on the UK page but this time on the US... weird....

I think that's because your printer is too good compared to mine: it must need a specific Epson Scan Software, that is not the same for my printer (XP600 is very common and similar to other epson printers).

I'm afraid you'll have to wait...again

You can try send them an email to tell them to hurry up! No- really, Mavericks Golden Master was released a long time ago and Epson didn't notice their Software wouldn't work, that's pathetic!
