Failed to verify preflight file ... App Store broken after Mavericks upgrade

I upgraded my OS X to Mavericks and the install was very smooth. Since then, however, I cannot update any apps or purchase new ones in the App Store. I receive a message saying "Failed to verify the preflight file. It is not signed by Apple. The application will be available from the Purchases page." Unfortunately the same thing happens when I use the Purchases page as well.

Am I doing something wrong or did something break with App Store after my installation?

To Pall: Thanks - I was going insane. They need to fix the Certificate problem. Always getting errors for things we shouldn't - I've changed those settings in Key/Certificate a bunch of times - never had any idea it would cause download and upgrade problems too! It sure would be nice if we actually had root certificates and the ones above (under?) them that worked without the constant errors - what's the point? Apple doesn't make enough? The least they could do is upgrade the root ones that are good and have a message show up when we can accept without a problem. I have never liked Keychain and like it even less now. The Certificate part obviously doesn't make us any safer - just causes stuff like this. Once again, thanks! You should take credit for this so other's don't - sharing is one thing, and you were very nice about it - but lots of folks are really into the points.
