I also submitted feedback to Apple.

Luckily I was just about ready to buy a iPhone5S to replace my aging iPhone4 and this "Info Tab & Sync" removal happend, it's something I can't live with for long, so unless "info Tab" it's restored and fast I will just replace my phone and iPad with another solution that gives me the sync control that I need for business and without having to wonder about the real securtity of my data in iCloud.

Hi,

In order to synchronise the calendars between my MAC + iphone + itab I tried the iCloud.

Unfortunately I lost all my Outlook sync calendar entries (known bug, please have a look at the related articles); I don't mention the duplicate entries....

My decision: iCall is free but the current solution is useless... so I invested in BusyCal 2.5.3, a soft I found as alternative, the synchronisation is still by iCloud but it works.

So my Apple guys: please offer software which give an answer to the needs of your customers, even if an upgrade fee has to be paid; but stop offering free updates and solutions which are useles and force the user to invest in an alternative.

Some years ago a decided to switch from Microsoft to Apple, but I don't have a clear answer if it is still a good decision.

No more Calender and Contact syncs with my devices without using iCloud. It was an excellent tool that should not have been removed. It is terribly unfortunate. I knowlonger wish to have apple products because I don't want everyone that I speak with and my complete schedule map by time and day out there for everyone to see. Also, I found out that apple doesn't update their security on older versions of iOS. So, If I decided to revert back to mountain lion, the personal information on my computer is at risk because apple doesn't update their security. Either way we go about it we can't keep our personal information to ourselves. What do we do? Hmm... Get them to change it back or get rid of our apple computers. I wonder if the Dells or Vaios are good models. It ***** because I already invested a lot of money into these devices. It won't be hard to get rid of them though. People that don't care about their own personal security will still want the apple products. Thanks Apple.

Hi carloLux,

I fully support the highlight this aspect to the EU commission, Apple can't force users to share their personal infos into the iCloud.

Even more now that there is this scandal of spy stuff of US vs Europe I believe EU Commission will consider the point.

How should we highlight the point ? Petition ?

Any EU lawyer in the discussion ?

Wow, so now I have to upload my data in a country with a completely rogue government, and allow them to spy on me. I also lose the ability to segregate my contacts between business and person. Wonderful.

I religiously read release notes, but this was not there. This needs to go to the EU commission, concurred.

Edit: I'd like to add the MOST annoying part of all of this and why I found this thread in the first place is that sync via iCloud means you have to enter your password manually for each and every email account. I have 45 of them, all different. It's going to take a while...

Everyone Please Submit Feedback and Be Heard!

A passionate mac user since 1989, we produce our videos & run our production business on Macs.

This security issue is devastating. Its unthical, dangerous, and a breach of trust with billions of Apple users to sneak-force this migration path to the iCloud.

There was no warning. I did not have to opt into iCloud, in order to upgrade. But it won't work unless I do. I choose not to expose my personal data and contact information. So now, I'm between a rock and an Apple.

Just posted this to the feedback link:

"Extremely disappointed in new iCloud syncing requirements and lack of info tab while syncing iPhone and iPad. Especially for the lack of warning prior to update. Reference this link in support communities for more information https://discussions.apple.com/thread/5469874.

For all intents and purposes I have lost the schedule for my business. As a sole proprietor who trusted and depended on Calendar, this is devastating.

I would very much like to know how Apple intends to correct this serious oversight and would appreciate a timely response."

Please continue to provide feedback in the hopes that a solution will be forthcoming.

What the **** is going on. I trusted Apple as the best laptop in the world and I loved my iPhone. And now I can't do the syncing because the lack of the INFO-tab in iTunes. That happened for 10 hours ago when I updated to Maverick. How can Apple do so without telling us. I hope the responsible man will be fired. Can I reinstall from my Time Machine and go 10 hours back and be a lucky man again? Can somebody help?

I too am getting more and more frustrated and angry at Apple's continual aggresive stranglehold over users options and their cynical "upgrades" and hardware changes, forcing users into shelling out more and more £'s!

Following on from changing of the cable connection on the later iPads (making lots of equipment obselete) and terminating the option to upgrade the iPod 4 to the latest ios software, (making purchase of the iPod 5 the only option); this latest "upgrade", removing the cable info sync option in iTunes is the final straw for me !!

I have posted feedback, but I doubt very much it will do any good or have any effect on a bullish bully of a company who seem to be intent on riding roughshod over users complaints or opinions.

I shall be moving back to PC or android sooner rather than later !!!

To be fair, the cable upgrades will save most people much more time than the cost difference. The lightning cable is much faster. I know it was a bit of a cash grab at first, but it is a legitimate improvement that was needed, and worth the money.

You can't win here, if you use Microsoft products, they have been directly linked to the NSA at the OS level. Let's not forget why they bought Skype for so many billions, it wasn't because Skype is worth billions directly as a business. It was because it was a small price to pay for the information they could collect.

Just tried to sync garage band with my iPod touch 4 and was messaged that the recently upgraded garage band was not compatible with the my current iPod ios 6.1.3.

Apple have also prevented this model being upgraded to ios 7 (in order to accomodate the new garage band), therefore making the only solution, the purchase of a new iPod generation 5.

BAD, BAD Practice APPLE !!! using your loyal customers and users as nothing more than a cash cow. You really should hang your heads in shame 😠

Yup ... impractical, limiting, and presumptuous move on rotten Apple part.

Why would I want to go to iCloud to sync my private calendar, contacts, CC info, etc?

- to give rotten Apple an opportunity to mine my data

- to have them share it with others as they are pleased, including the biggest brother of them all (as per secret contractual agreement)

- to let the hackers test their system security … there is a big incentive now

Why don’t I want to go to iCloud to sync my private calendar, contacts, CC info, etc?

- privacy and security

- convenience and expediency

- cost … yes, the bandwidth costs, especially when you travel and/or are in remote locations with no cable/fiber nor wifi connectivity

Think about it Apple, and stop being so rotten!

BTW, going back to Windows as my main workhorse seems inevitable now.
