Aperture library not supported in Pages 5.0?

When I click on media, it now just shows iPhoto, not Aperture. Anyone know if there is a option somewhere, or is this a problem for all?

Also, no search bar for music? They expect me to just scroll through my whole library now until I stumble across what I want.

I have added images to both iPhoto and Aperture, identifiably different.

Nothing showed up so I closed all the apps, Pages 5.1, iPhoto and Aperture.

When I reopen Pages it finally sees my iTunes and iPhoto.

Still no Aperture nor Aperture images.

There are a couple more glitches as well.

If you use the Toolbar Media icon it pops down over the page and obscures the placeholder shape.

After you get an image into the placeholder shape, it is still a placeholder but loses the placeholder link in the corner. You only get the replace image pop-out after that by right clicking on the image, which works but means the UI is jumping all over the place.

You get the placeholder icon back by turning placeholder off then on again.

Definitely a work in progress.

Hi Peter, I did absolutely nothing. I just tried out of curiosity after the update.

There is still no search function, and that can be annoying. However, the images seem to be all (?) there in some folder system. I never figured out the folder/project system of iPhoto/Aperture, so I usually just click around until I find what I'm looking for.

To be honest, nowadays my main photo editor is Adobe Photoshop and my image management system is Adobe Bridge. The last few years I have used Aperture mainly to download photos from my iPhone via iCloud.

A few more minutes with the Media browser and I already found a few limitations/bugs.

1. If I open the media browser in Pages and then go to another application and then back again to Pages, often the list of projects is empty. I just see the headings "Projects" and "Smart Albums". I have to close the Media Browser one more time and reopen it to see the photos.

2. There is no Search function, as there was in Pages 4.3.

3. There is no Photo Booth option, as there was in Pages 4.3.

4. Entries like "Faces" or "My Photostream" do not appear in Pages 5.1's Media browser.

5. The folder hierarchy is flattened. You get a list of Projects and a list of Smart Albums regardless of which folders they were in.

For my purposes, that is all minor points. However, I guess that for other people, who try to use Apple's software as if there had been some thought behind it, it may be annoying.
