BlueTooth doesn't work with OS Mavericks.

I just had this problem this morning too after installing Mavericks. I rebooted twice and nothing changed. However, if you choose "Shut Down" and let it turn itself completely off and then turn your Mac back on it should work again. DId the trick for me.

Please shutdown your system and leave it off for about 60seconds. Now power it back on and see if it helps.

I've found an article about it last night About a problem with bluetooth with a fix, but that was on Mountain Lion! 😕

I do have an opened case service with Apple about it. It seems that i have Maveriks on my HD and Mountain Lion on my SSD, they think that could be the problem.

I am backing up some stuff before let them do anything on my computer, just to be safe! If I boot my computer trough the ML HD Bluetooth is back on line. If I reboot from the SSD no such luck!

I have already upgraded on my MacBook Air mid 2013 and on my iMac 24inch mid 2008 and everything is running smooth! Since on those two i do have only one HD maybe that's really the issue. Let's see.

A clean install of Mavericks (not upgrade) and fetching the apps and docs from TM did the trick for me! Good luck!

2. Click the Sharing icon.
3. Turn on Bluetooth Sharing.

I updated to Mavericks and got the same problem: "Bluetooth: Not Available."

I have already tried most of the things I read in this Discussion List (including reinstalling OS X Mavericks), but none of then worked so far.

Help me!

I tried to reinstall and the bluetooth setting are still vanished.......

Not in the settings and they are not in the system info.

What else can i do?

Here is what has worked for me and it's been quite steady ever since:

1. I've made sure i had a recent backup prevoiusly from Mavericks (Time Capsule).
2. Using Disk Utility, I've formatted my HD SSD.
3. Restored the backup previously from Mavericks.
4. With that, I've made sure I did not had the Mavericks downloaded on that backup, since i had it, I had to delete it. That's important so that you can redownload Mavericks.
5. Redownloaded Mavericks.
6. Reinstalled it.
7. Worked like a charm!

This is a very time consumming chore, so make sure you can baby sit your computer, sort of overnight or on a weekend.

What has just worked for me is to delete the Bluetooth preferences file before doing the reinstall.

That is delete the file

/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Bluetooth.plist

(and make sure that it is no longer in your trash. You may need to do a restart in order to remove it from the trash.)
