Centered Canvas is WAY worth it. Having animations deal with the top and left made no sense when you couldn't stage objects out there.

Pathfinder IS new and I love it! Give me a way to drop and convert an .svg document and I've got all I need.

Making the change from the iWork XML from years back to the kinda "locked up" file that we have now took a LOT of work. Some things didn't make it into this cut, but it puts them in a GREAT position going forward. The future looks bright and when some of those features are added back (like Final Cut's blockpoint releases) folks will finally be able to drop the old version and move 100% into the new.

Also, when right-clicking on the canvas, the 'Paste & Match Style' option is gone. Now if I wan to do that, i have to press on Shift+Alt+Cmd+V. This is insane. Granted, Apple doesn't want to add new features. But why should they remove what was already present?!?!?

And the ruler appear in only one way. I like it to be centered.

The new keynote is driving me nuts!! I'm a college student & freelance keynote designer. I really care about this app. it's the one I use most. I'm sooooo deceived by this pseudo-upgrade. Does the programmer(s) who designed the new iWork even use it?? I don't think so.

And what about the information in the Builds Inspector Panel. Builds used to be labelled IN or OUT. Now you have to guess which is which! Why fix/break somethign that was working perfectly?? What I was really lookign forward was like a 'Layers Inspector'. This would help place objects much more easily, rather than clicking 'Sent to back' and/or 'Send backward'.

The last time I was so ****** off with Apple is when they had released their Maps app on iOS, and removed Google's.

That said, since the original '09 apps have not been deleted, I thought that I'd make Finder automatically open my iWork files with the previous apps. Guess what? You can't. I did try. I clicked on the box where it's written 'Use this app to open all similar files', but to no avail. There's no way (at least that i know of) to make Keynote 5.3 the DEFAULT presentation app. 😟

"I just discovered that we lost Customize Presenter View. The Notes area is now worthless. I can only see about two lines. So frustrating."

This prompted me to try Keynote 6 on my laptop for the 1st time and rehearse a presentation. After finding the option to show presenter notes under an icon in the upper right, they did display, with a control to adjust font size, a scroller, and an option to edit them without leaving rehearsal mode.

Just double-checked, and Keynote '09 had a smaller presenter notes display, with a scroller but no font or editing option. Assuming that this works the same when actually playing with a projector, it seems like this is actually an improvement....Wish there were more.

I'm with you there on the complicated builds... I've been emailing Apple and telling all my Apple Store Business reps for YEARS that Keynote needs a slide timeline view (like FCP). It would be INCREDIBLE if it had that... being able to visually see the animation layout of a slide and then changing timings by simply dragging the bars, arranging them in layer position and more for each element. One can dream I guess. 🙂
