Cannot Connect to the iBooks Store
MacBook Air (13-inch Mid 2011), OS X Mavericks (10.9)
Thank you so much rudlab!! I don't really understand how the Keychains work, but your fix worked for me. It is sad how many people have had this issue, and there is no official troubleshooting post (at least that I could find) to address the issue. You have saved me from frustration!
One more comment about this. I had to restart my computer first. When I tried to connect to the store immediately after adjusting the keychain, it did not work. After restarting the computer, success!
I have the same problem:
Message in iBooks - Cannot connect to the iBooks store
I've tried rudlab's instructions 3 times including restarts with no success.
iBooks in iPad seems to be working, new orders have downloaded there ok.
Have tried syncing iPad to see if books downloaded to it would turn up in iMac's iBooks, but no.
In iTunes, iPad Books view, the books I recently downloaded to it don't appear?
But they are still in iBooks on the iPad. Yes they're supposed to be in OSX iBooks but they're not, I assumed that syncing would cause them to appear there automatically.
Mavericks 10.9.4 on iMac 2009
iOS 7.0.6 on iPad 3
iBooks 3.2 on iPad
iBooks 1.0.1
iTunes 11.2.2
After my experience with installing Mavericks 10.9.4 I am reluctant to download any new updates, inc iTunes or new iOS system updates.
Mavericks issues:
Computer slow.
Mail has multiple problems inc with gmail.
iBooks of course won't connect to the iBooks store.
Maps not working (blank).
And Pages, well, upgraded the iPad version but docs sent to iMac won't open in the older iMac version, and from what I've read about the new OSX version I'm steering clear of it.
This is possibly the worst experience I've had with an OS upgrade during my 30 years working with Macs.
