Preview broken with Mavericks?

Junking the preference files & restarting fixed it.

But not my sidebar problem.

I have had the same problem: since installing Mavericks two-finger scrolling in Preview stops and starts. Ditching the preference file seems to have made it better, but certainly not perfect.

Same problem as well. What I've noticed is that Preview is worse with PDF and screen shots that are .png or takenwith command+shift+4. Clearing my preference files does nothing, also this happens in my guest account. What else I've noticed is play with the aspect ratio, drag the window out proporinally then cute the windows height a little or whatever then presto scoll bars return and the abilitu to scroll with a third party mouse.

I am having the same problem with preview ever since I upgraded to Mavericks. I'm on a 2011 13" pro. Trying to take lecture notes, preview open on the left side of my screen with pages open on the right, my scrolling is very choppy and regularly will not let me scroll at all.

I had the same problem with scrolling with my Magic Mouse in Preview after installing Mavericks. To solve the problem I had to go to two areas in System Preferences:

1) System Preferences -> Mouse. Click on Swipe between pages.

2) System Preferences -> Accessibility -> Mouse Options. Be sure Scrolling with inertia is checked. Set Scrolling Speed to Fast on slider.

I just noticed that going past the bottom to get to the Dock in Full Screen mode no longer works either.

Oh, it works if you scroll slowly.

The only .plist file I have in the com.apple.Preview folder is Containers.plist. No file named like you referenced.

My setting under Accessibility for the mouse is "with intertia" already. Any other options ?

I don't have that folder or file, only

~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Preview.LSSharedFileList.plist

although I vaguely recall a 2nd file next to it.

Yes, there's a second file with partly the same name except it relates to "URL" or something

So I deleted both & restarted (or logged out/in).

The missing scroll bars in preview are a problem for me, so I would love to have them back. I use a regular mouse (not the mac magic mouse), so I have no trackpad. This makes it impossible to zoom in on a figure in a pdf document to look at it closer, which is something I often do.

Was this change a design decision or an accident?

How about under

System Preferences > General ?

I tried selecting "always" under "show scroll bars" in System Preferences > General. They are still missing in preview after doing that.

Looks like my actual problem was nothing more than the scroll speed being changed (??) by the installer. It was on tick mark 2 or 3 (on the slow side). I changed it to the 2nd or 3rd fastest speeds and all appears well again.
