My gmail blocked my new page file...Help!!!

The server thinks the attachment is spam or malware. Compress the file as a ZIP archive and send that.

The problem is on the server, not on your computer. You would have to contact Google for a resolution.

Your issue is with the HTML content and the tools and algorithms that Google is using to detect spam. What that specific trigger is here, I don't know. It might be problems with the spam detection — possibly spam detection, as the link in the original posting isn't valid — or the file might simply be too big, or some other issue.

If the document isn't sensitive or the sensitive data can be expunged, please post the document somewhere and folks can have a look. You can also review the format of the HTML document yourself. Use one of the available HTML verification tools; Google has one, and there's the w3c validator, which is basically what we'd do with the posted document.

Alternatively, send plain text. Attach a PDF. Generate simpler HTML. Check directly with Google. Check the attachment file size, too, as Google limits that size. Find a different email provider. Etc.

Try testing your theory that the trigger here is the new iWorks file formats at fault, and either prove or disprove the theory.

Specifically – the issue seems to be "a zip file within another file". Here's what the iWork file format really is:

But this wasn't an issue prior to Mavericks. We saw it start immediately after updating the OS and since then have been only able to send .doc/.docx converted files from iWork.

Please Apple and Google – flick a switch and get this fixed!

I'm experiencing the same issue. As others have pointed out, it appears to be a problem with Gmail rejecting the file type. It's pretty annoying, and I hope it gets fixed soon.

One workaround that doesn't include changing the entire document: use the export menu to create a Pages '09 document. It will still have the .pages extensions, but it sends OK.

Having this problem for last few days.

So grateful I read your post and that you have pointed to exporting in iWork09 version, saved me from even more frustration today!

I have contacted google support so hopefully we can get a solution and will post if do.

Same Problem.

I contacted google support and they say it is an apple issue since their security policy has not changed.

Has anyone escalated the problem with apple support (need apple care or tech support still active) ?

We use iwork for work in our company, this is a mayor inconvenience.

After reviewing the information you provided, we believe that you may be affected by a known issue.

We found that Mavericks OS is having some issues with Gmail IMAP. our specialists are working on solving the issue as soon as possible.
