I use an 23" hp monitor with my MacBook Pro 2012. Now I have upgraded to Mavericks, after I wake up the machine from sleep the screen looks like this (a greenish screen).
I have to open the machine itself inorder to have a proper colour on the ext. monitor again.

Just an update - After over a month since upgrading to Mavericks 10.9.2 (13C64), and having the green screen issue resolved, my MacBook Pro continues to be free of this problem.
just got new 27 Qhd cintiq - new macbook pro and iMac retina. I have the same problem of green screen appearing on my cintiq with both machines on wake up after going into sleep mode .
I have informed wacom about this but they merely redirected me to this post citing it as a known problem and that i should get in touch with apple about this .
My only work around right now is to restore the cintiq to factory settings - this is not really very satisfactory after spending a fortune on this kit .
