Mavericks sync Outlook 2011

Hi

Since mountain lion i was able to sync office 2011 (Outlook) with iCal and Address Book from OS X.

But now, with Mavericks, i config exactly the same, but don´t work, nothing happens.

Can someone advise?

and there was no prior notice that Apple was disabling sync services, as far as I'm aware.

Except this: https://developer.apple.com/library/mac/releasenotes/general/macosxlionapidiffs/ SyncServices.html

Deprecation

Deprecation is a status applied to a computersoftware feature, characteristic, or practice indicating it should be avoided, typically because it is being superseded. The term is also sometimes used for a feature, design, or practice that is permitted but no longer recommended in other areas, such as hardware design or compliance to building codes.

All the developers that depended on this, including Microsoft, were well aware that it was changing. It was up to them to adapt their software for the impending change.

Things are getting a bit testy (I apologize for the pun). As I use Google as my mail client, and despite being disappointed that I can no longer use my expensive Outlook client, I have come to the fact that I need a different client. I am using Mail native to Maverick now, and it is doing the job, but has some limitations and bugs. I have started a new thread to open a discussion on alternative 3rd party mail clients, hopefully with some specific opinions towards how they work with Google. There are lots of reviews, but hopefully some real life experiences will be discussed.

Good luck to those who have to use Outlook on their Apple product.

It's a desolate picture! I signed up for a single 'cloud' Exchange account, which allows at least calendar, notes and contact sync between PC, Mac, iPhone and iPad. But the other issue is the horrible inconsistency of Outlook 2011 which has some great features but also has an array of bugs such as erratic format changes, mails 'stuck' in the outbox, absent options such as delayed send, format copy in mails etc.

I haven't even tried Mail on the back of consistent criticism for its minimalist approach.

Are there really any serious contenders to Outlook?

Saying that Outlook for Mac has never synced with anything except Exchange isn't entirely true. It used to sync with gmail. Here's how: http://www.macstories.net/tutorials/how-to-wrangle-outlook-2011-to-work-with-gma il/

So frustrating that one of the world's most popular e-mail clients and one of the world's most popular cloud platforms can't just get along.
