After iOS 7.0.3 iPhone 5S won't finish sync

The subject pretty much says it all. Never had this problem until after the 7.0.3 update. All steps of the backup, sync, etc. occur, but then it hangs on "Finishing Sync". I usually wait about a minute and then click DONE and eject the phone.

iPhone 5s, iOS 7, iPad mini

Think I've stumbled across the solution by accident. I was getting incredibly frustrated after trying to sync my phone and was going to restore it... iTunes said I needed to turn off 'find my phone' (in my phone settings) prior to restoring so I turned it off and voila - all of a sudden my music synced without restoring anything. Phew! Apple really need to sort this out though - it's a complete shambles!

Apple seriously needs to just fix this, as it's obviously more than an isolated problem. There are several discussions about here and more on the internet. As usually, there will be a future update for some inoccuous stuff, and it will "just happen" to fix this as well. That's probably the only area in which Apple operates the same way as Google...things just seemed to "get fixed" without ever admitting there was a problem :-(

So, I tried turning off "find my phone" as Larry mentioned above. That seemed to do the trick for me, but what a stupid pain in the ***. Ugh. Apple at it again. Thanks for the suggestion. I don't even want to know why turning off your phone's location would somehow have anything to do with syncing your phone thru itunes. I think I really have grown to despise what they've done to iTunes. Yuk. Be that as it may, thanks Larry.

@oburdick: you must have meant someone else in this thread other than me (Larry McJunkin), as turning off Find My Phone" didn't work for me. I've tried all the suggestions, but still end up with the spinning bar.

I have realized, however, that the sync actually takes place and it's just a matter of it not turning off that spinning bar and displaying the Apple logo again. When I get to the end, I just wait about ten seconds to make sure everything has completed, then click DONE and eject my iPhone. Still, it's an unnecessary PITA step and Apple needs to fix it.

I have the same issue and discovered the same "fix." I've tried the "Sync after sync" and the "Eject while finishing sync". Both work as long as the spinning arrows icon disappears from the iPhone and from iTunes. It's more "weird" than annoying, IMO, but that's about it. Hopefully, whatever little bit of code that got omitted during the rush to get iOS 7, iTunes and Mavericks out the door in relatively short order will get put back in the next version.
