Apple Event: May 7th at 7 am PT
Since updating to iOS 7.0.3 I can no longer use the microphone which is problematic for video recording, Siri and a couple of apps my daughter uses. I have the apps ok'd through settings-privacy-microphone so that's not the issue. What else can I do?

Not resolved by visit to apple store but I have found a brilliant little mic that solves the recording problem.

I have had the same problem happen to the mic on my iphone 5 due to the most recent update. Took it to the apple store and they said there is nothing physically wrong with my phone. They said since it's not under warranty I have to just buy a new phone but this is unacceptable. Apple please own up to this and fix this problem.
Recently updated to iOS 7.1 on my iPad and.was hoping that would work but still no mic. Was planning a trip to San Francisco this summer and was hoping to use my iPad to take some video, but with no sound what's the point. Quickly losing faith in apple products. Suppose I will just have to buy a digital camcorder. As many complaints I've heard about people with the same problem after updating I have to believe its a problem with the software.
