Since installing 10.9 my CF Cards will not copy photos and I get Error 36

Ever Since installing OS X Mavericks on my 11 in Macbook Air I am unable to copy photos from my CF cards. As soon as the file transfer begins the finder shows error 36 and the card unmounts without copying any files. I have tried repairing permissions and all the usual fixes. Any suggestions?

MacBook Air (11-inch Mid 2012), OS X Mavericks (10.9)

This isn't a perfect solution, but it works. I have a very small USB2 hub (IOGear) that I carry around. I attach the hub to my MBP 15" (mid 2012), and attach my USB 3 card reader (SIIG) to the hub. I can transfer CF cards with no problems; albeit slower than I would like.
