I have the latest version of keynote but it won't open files....says I need a newer version

Latest Keynote app was downloaded wirh Maverick update. My keynote files won't open and error message says I need to download latest version. I cannot download newer version (have latest version already) because my purchases say I have already installed it. Any ideas how to fix this?

Mac Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9)

Glad to hear you resolved this.

However I'm horrified that as a Keynote user you have installed the fake utility software Cleanmymac. There is nothing in this malware application that the Mac Operating system is able to do better, for free and without slowing down performance.

The sole reason this rubbish is available is to get your money. So if you don't want your Mac hijacked by unscrupulous fraudsters, uninstall it now.

You need to clarify the following you are using as the details you mention does not add up.

  • exact version of Keynote
  • Mac OS version
  • version of Keynote that created the files your trying to open

In the meantime try this test, right click one of the Keynote files, select open with then select the newest keynote version listed. Does it open?
