Mavericks issue with airplay mirroring to apple tv

I found a solution. I reinstalled OSX. I had to download the full version of OSX and then setup a stick drive with a 3rd party loader on it instead of just reinstalling the os where it automatically loads the settings I had back on. Some 3rd party hardware I had screwed up airplay. When I reloaded the OS completely, the airplay started working again. I hope this helps. Sorry I dont have better news for you. When you have the stick drive ready, you hold down the option key during boot and it will give the option to reinstall by USB and off you go. I backed up all of my files on a removable HDD and then loaded all of my contacts by icloud.

This is what I ended up doing after asking for help at the Apple store and with Apple tech support by phone. They were really nice by phone. Reinstalling is not such huge work. It didnt take too long, and it was nice not having an "upgraded" operating system which is basically what Mavericks was when I upgraded from Mountain Lion. So, unless you have been on the same OS, you really have done some installations. I do wish you luck though, and IF you find another solution, please post to ME what exactly YOU came up with. I would be most interested in any other fix for Airplay issues.

Airpaly drops after 3-4 seconds. My iphone works fine. I have a macbookpro 6 months old running Mavericks. Worked just fine with Mountain Lion... As my iPhone works just fine with apple TV the problem is Mavericks... what to do?

I installed AirParrot and the same problem prevails...

How annoying. I've read everything on here after we havens lent the better part of 2 days trying to get out mirroring working. I knew I shouldn't have installed mavericks. This is exactly why I waited this long thinking these things would be ironed out. I don't feel tech savvy enough to go to the lengths some have to fix and I don't feel like I should have to be !!! THATS WHY I BUY APPLE !!! so I can just pay for it, plug it in and it works. This is rubbish apple. Absolute rubbish !!!!

It is rubbish. I agree. My fix worked, but I had lots of NON- Apple software installed that could have messed things up. I planned the reinstall well and it come off without a hitch. The thing I did NOT factor in was having wipe all of my ipads and my iphone and reassociate them with the same PC. That part was annoying. They really ought to ease up on the iTunes restrictions.
