The keyboard and the trackpad stops working including brigtness keys and volume control keys. i have use apple hardware test but no problem are found.

It is also possible that there is a link with location. For example, the users who exchanged a system showing this problem for a new one might have received one from the same (faulty) batch.

I'm from the Netherlands, and I noticed someone else in this thread posting that he bought his system at the Apple Store in Amsterdam as well. On the other hand, Dutch Apple Support was not (yet) aware of this issue when I called them. Any other users with this problem from the Netherlands?

I called them twice Saturday morning. They had me perform an SMD and NVRAM reset.By coincidence, it took only 15 minutes after that for the next freeze to occur (haven't had any since then). I called again, and they asked me to do a full reinstall of OSX to rull out the possibility that it is software related. If that would not solve the problem either, they told me it could be picked up for repair or I could also exchange it for a new one given that I only just bought it.

I haven't done a reinstall yet, because that would cost a lot of time and would probably not solve it as I think that if it's software related it is due to a bug in the OS which will just come back after doing a reinstall.

Btw: seeing that people posting in this thread are from all over the world it's probably not geography related.

Happens on mid 2012 Retina 15" too. One time it was froozen but got going after about 5 minutes the other time I had to force a reboot. Reset SMC and NVRAM before second freeze so that's not much help. I've had all the developer versions of Mavericks without trouble so it's something that started with the GM release on the developer site and still occurs on the app store release (slightly higher build number)
