Can't Scroll In Mail after Mavericks update

Me too, both with Magic Mouse and built-in trackpad.

I experience the issue with folders, mails topics and mails.

Using scrollbars works, if these were visible before the issue appeared, scrolling with arrow keys works always.

Usually, the effect disappears after a while (without closing and re-opening the app).

I was having all the same issues - couldn't scroll, app freezes, troubles with gmail accounts not synchronizing, ....

After seeing a reference to the Activity window, I opened it and found that Mail was constantly trying to connect to a non working Exchange account that I'd deactivated long ago but had not deleted entirely from Mail. When I tried to delete the account in Mail, it informed me that the account was "shared using iCloud" and presented a button to the 'Internet Accounts' preferences pane. After deleting the account from the internet accounts list, I was then able to delete it in Mail.

Bingo!The Activity window looks clean. Automatic scrolling works again. Mail is active and responsive.

Under Preferences > Internet Accounts, there was a bunch of "Notes" accounts for each of my mail accounts. Deleted those and now scrolling seems to work.

In my case a PRAM/NVRAM reset solved this.

Do a restart and before the initial boot screen make sure to hold down the four keys Option + Command + P + R.

Continue holding down those keys untill you get a second boot chime, then release.

Always show scroll works only as a temp. fix until later when scrolling stops again. Also PRAM reset only worked for a while and then same issue again. Another Mavericks issue.

Yes this is happening to me as well. Restarting mail fixes it for a bit but II think - APPNAP - has created a lot of little problems. A clean reinstall fixed a lot of the other problems (UI crashing, slow safari - actually safari has its own set of problems I blame on Flash and Java issues) I had with this- though this one - scrolling with a BT mouse - is still a bug. Please Apple keep the Betas inhouse!!
