No sound out after wake up in Mavericks

I have updated to Mavericks three days ago.

But I find that there is no sound output (headphone &speaker) after sleep, even though for 1 second's sleep.

Everytime I need to restart the computer to obtain the sound again.

Someone list the following suggested solution, but it actually does not work:

"

Close all windows and quit all applications.

Click "Go" menu in the Finder menubar.

Select Computer, then Macintosh HD > Library > Preferences

Open "Audio" folder.

Right click these two files and select "Move to Trash".

com.apple.audio.DevicesSettings.plist

com.apple.audio.SystemSettings.plist

Close the window. Restart the computer.

"

I really really hope someone can help me to solve this problems.

Many thanks!

May be this can work (for me, it's working). It's just a problem of disk permissions. Open the Disk Utility, select your System HD, and just press Repair Permissions button (or if you prefer, see which permissions are wrong with the other button).

I guess this help you.

(Sorry if the name of buttons are not exactly what I wrote, I'm translating from spanish. And sorry for my poor english too)

Still dropping sound on my MacBook Air and iMac.

What the f&ck is going on Apple?

Have you tried deleting the 2 .plist files in the following audio folder:

Macintosh HD > Libray > Preferences > Audio

Apparently that has fixed it for most people.

Also Apple will be releasing OS X 10.9.3 update in a few weeks time which focuses on the area of 'audio issues'. Give it a Google!

All this stuff about opening a terminal window, etc. is beyond those of us who are not "techies". I did a search for the Apple Help and there is nothing on how I do that and I don't understand any of this or how to enter it.

sudo kextunload /System/Library/Extensions/AppleHDA.kext
sudo kextload /System/Library/Extensions/AppleHDA.kext

If I lose sound in my browser, I can usually get it back by just restarting the browser but, that, too, is a hassle. We need a fix that ordinary users can do.

Thanks,

I know this is a bit technical but it will make it easy until they fix this problem that may force me to sell my 2013 MBA and get a Lenovo X1 Carbon.

Open AppleScript Editor and past the fallowing in:

tell application "Terminal"

do shell script "kextunload /System/Library/Extensions/AppleHDA.kext/" with administrator privileges

do shell script "sudo -S kextload /System/Library/Extensions/AppleHDA.kext/" with administrator privileges

end tell

and then go to file Save, give it a name like Audio Fix and for the file type select Application.

When you run the new app it should ask you for your password and you can enter it in and you will have audio back

I do hate Apple and the half baked OS's they seem to be releaseing every year, maybe they should take some more time with them.

I've created an apple-script app using the applescript code that was posted earlier, and it works very well. For those that are uncomfortable creating their own I can put it up in my dropbox if people are interested. I just put it in my doc and click it, enter the password and it fixes the issue.

You'll have to trust me that this is just the apple-script for this particular purpose and not a malicious program (since it does ask for admin password).
