No sound out after wake up in Mavericks

Paying $2k+ for a system that can not handle headphones correctly is just a really really sad story.

Also had the same problem here. Macbook Pro late 2013. Do you guys have parallel desktop installed? My Macbook pro works perfectly fine untill I install flash player in Parallel Desktop (windows 7 in Parallel). After uninstalling the flash player plugin in Parallel the sound problem goes away. Disabling the flash player plugin in chrome://plugins also works for me too.

Can you guys try diabling the flash plugin to see if it can solve your problem? I find that there is a bug report on the same issue in the Chrome issue tracker as well:https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=160920

Same issue ... after Mavericks update ... no audio on MacBook Air after sleep. Also, gMail would not recognize being connected to WiFi.

Both issues RESOLVED for me by an Apple guy over the phone ... do a hard shutdown/reset by simultaneously pressing "Shift" "Control" "Option" keys with your left hand and at the same time pressing the "Off" button in the upper right hand corner of the keyboard. Worked for me. High 5's all around.

After 10.9.1 update looks like the problem seems to be over !! I will let the mac sleep more to find out if they really fixed the problem and come with a reply !!!

macbook air late 2013 here (i had no sound after putting the mac to sleep with the headphones plugged in)!!

Thought the 10.9.1 update would solve the problem. Still no sound after waking up. Are you freakin kidding me?

Yes, the sleep w/ headphones wake occurrence has ended on 2 Macbook Air in test.

For me, macbook pro 15inch retina (late 2013) the problem started with 10.9.1 . I just filled a complaint

I tested already on my MBA 13, no sound whatsoever. Hate the mavericks😠

for me even after that update i still have no sound my friend told me it is probably a virus in the Mavericks that is taking away the sound nothing has worked so far and I really need sound i'm going to bring my laptop to apple and get it checked out because this started right after i got the mavericks

tested 1 day, seems ok...

This also worked for me, don't know if I will have to do it again after my MBA goes into sleep mode. No reboot was needed after this action. Thanks so much!!!

Yep, same problem here with my brand new macbook pro.

Restart works for me, but what the.....!
