i am sure that is just one knows.
i have just one Apple
one iphone
one Apple ID
and one password
what do i do now?
Is there still no solution to solve the problem??
I erased my iphone, but when i wanted to turn it on i had already changed the appleid password so I also in trap.
appleid + old password = wrong password
appleid + new password = cannot be used to unlock the iphone
The solution is simple and has been stated numerous times. You have to use the correct iCloud account.
sorry for my english.
the problem is:
- I used my iphone for a while
- I decided to sell it and erased it from icloud(but i forgot to unbind it from icloud completely)
- I havent sold it and tried to turn it on
- there was message to unlock iphone, login+password raised error "this appleid cannot be used to unlock this iphone"
- I tried to unbind iphone through "find my iphone". there WAS my iphone, and I deleted it.
- the error was the same, so I found at forums that it is case when you should put in login and OLD password which was been used to activate the iphone. But password has already changed.
So, what kind of correct iCloud account should I use?
Does the phone have an active Internet connection? An Internet connection is REQUIRED. You need to use the Apple ID that was used to activate iCloud and Find my iPhone and the current password for that account.
Yes, of course the internet connection was active, the problem is that you have to use Apple ID and password that was used to activate the iphone, but i changed password when the iphone was erased. So when I use my new password there is error: ...cannot be used to unlock the iphone. But when i use my Apple ID and old password that were used to activate the iphone, the error is "wrong password". I am sure that it is correct Apple ID.
Sorry about that, it was my mistake. The problem was in hint: "to activate your iphone put login/password of a******@gmail.com account", but the email is completely another 🙂
I have read this thread from the beginning because I've just experienced the same problem.
I bought my iPhone 6 brand new from the Apple Store in the U.S (now I'm in Indonesia), and I set up the phone myself with MY OWN Apple ID. I've never changed it or anything. Then, since upgrading to iOS 9.2 my phone has been overheating and draining the battery which is why I reset my phone. Before resetting my phone I turned off Find My iPhone.
But on the startup screen it asks for Activation Lock that requires s*****@y*****.com and my ID is in g**** and I thought maybe it connects with my dad's phone which has the same email initials but still doesn't work.
I haven't tried contacting Apple since it just happened about an hour ago. But since this thread has been here for almost two years, I guess I will have no luck other than exchanging the phone with the new one (if that's even possible) or just get the new one.
If anybody can help, it will be much appreciated!
What if i don't know the original Apple ID?
It's a brick.
Seem like Apple can't solve this problem. I'm the new victim 😟

What problem do you expect Apple to solve? What do you feel you are the victim of?

No, Apple cannot solve the problem of buyers failing to do their due diligence before purchasing.
HI, recently, I have purchased iPhone 6- unlocked from Apple Store. I using iPhone 5 since since 2014. Now, I am trying to activate my new iPhone 6, I get an error message that this is is not correct to unlock the phone. I have turned off the Find my phone feature in my old phone.
any suggestions,
If you purchased it new from the Apple Store make a Genius Bar appointment and have them reset it.
