Canon's site says that the CanoScan Lide 90 is not compatible with 10.9. Has anyone found a way to get it to work? thanks

Jinet,
I was about to let you know that the CanoScan LiDE 90 does not work in OS X 10.9 Maverics, but now I can verify that the CanoScan LiDE 90 scanner does work, at least somewhat, with OS X 10.9 Mavericks.
I upgraded to 10.9 Mavericks the day after it was released, but could scan using my CanoScan LiDE 90 scanner using VueScan v. 9.3.17, the scanner program that I have exclusively used with this scanner for the last several years.
I reinstalled the drivers which are meant for 10.5-10.8 (LiDE 90 Scanner Driver Ver. 13.9.2a), but the scanner still did not scan using VueScan.
I then tried Apple's Image Capture, but it still didn't scan.
In the process of writing this post about how the scanner does not work in 10.9, I tried MP Navigator EX 1.0.7, the latest version of Canon's own scanner program, which I had installed some months ago. I almost never use this scanner, but MP Navigator was able to scan from my LiDE 90! It scans whether I chose "Use Scanner Driver" or not.
Even after I scanned a few documents using MP Navigator EX, I was not able to use VueScan - it claims that there is no scanner, so it appears that there may just be an issue with VueScan, I am not sure.
I hope that helps!
Hopefully Canon will release updated drivers that are completely verified for 10.9. In the meantime, it appears that MP Navigator EX works.

The file doesn't say (I don't see it at least). Date of creation is Nov 6 if that helps. Just glad it works.
Epson has posted updated scan apps as of Nov. 26 - at least, for the Artisan 810, and perhaps for others. My 810 is set up as a shared network printer, and I had to run the Scan Settings app before the Scan App would recognize the scanner. Once that was done, Photoshop Elements once again recognized the scan function; it works fine now.
I installed version 9.4.24 and that works with my LIDE 70 under Mavericks.
Hi,
Was it the 64-bit or the 32-bit version of VueScan 9.2.24?
I used to use the 64-bit version, but could not get that to work. I reverted to the 32-bit version of VueScan and have not had any more problems (but have not tried the 64-bit version since)
Thanks!
David
Hi, this is the 32-bit version downloaded from their website. Note: it is version 9.4.24 and NOT 9.2.24
Regards
Thanks for the update. And thanks for the correction: I meant VueScan version 9.4.24. I'll stick with the 32-bit version until I hear that the 64-bit version is working. I never saw any difference between the versions - if anything, the 64-bit version was a bit (pun not intended) slower.

vuescan also works with CanoScan Lide 60 ;-) - actaully the scanner is probably not worth the price of the software but I needed it today!
I installed the driver from the Canon page that is made for OS X Mountain Lion
Details - LiDE 90 Scanner Driver Ver. 13.9.2a (OS X 10.5/10.6/10.7/10.8)
It worked for me with Mavericks 10.9.2.
Apparently TWAIN-Scanner-Support was removed in Mavericks. Here is a quick and easy fix to get it working through System Settings / Printers & Scanners. However, I have not been able to use MP Navigator Ex (yet), it is crashing right at the beginning.
I acquired this scanner today and was attempting to get it working under El Capitan. I initially installed the 64-bit version of VueScan along with the latest driver issued by Canon (msd_-mac-lide90-13_9_2a-ej7.dmg). The 64-bit version did not even recognize that the scanner was plugged in; the 32-bit version, however, works great.
