Logic Pro 9 isn't installing in Mavericks

A lot of what I see isn't normal these days!

All I see under 'Macintosh HD' are directories called Applications, Library, System and Users.

And I mean the desktop, not the dock.

Your Logic Pro app shouldn't be on the desktop....

Move it into the applications folder... and then run updates...

If its not the app itself but a shortcut or alias to the Logic pro app.. right click on it and choose get info and see where the shortcut is pointing to....

Is that the actual app itself! Oh, blimey...that's my windows past making me think that was a shortcut!

Have just uploaded the new system software Mavericks 0SX 10.9.1, I use Logic Pro 9.0.

I just downloaded the new updater for Logic 9.1.8 update.pkg from the apple site. When I installed it I got this Alert sign, that my computer could'nt find ''an eligible version of Logic 9'', I have checked its in the apps folder and follwed all other suggestions on here and still the sign appears !!

Really need some help I have songs to produce and release !!

Make sure that the app is correctly named as Logic Pro and not anything else and that the app resides in the Application folder and no where else..

Thankyu x Yeah I have done this but didn't solve anything.. I also downloaded all the other updates frm 9.1.1 to 9.1.8, non of them open.. Am begining to think that may have been a mistake to upgrade to OSX Mavericks. If anyone can help please let me know asap. Bless - Samuel

Hi Samuel, this sounds like problem I had which 'the art of sound' sorted for me.

Coming from a windows background rather than having a shourtcut to LogicPro9 on my desktop, I had the actuall app there so any updates weren't working after upgrading.

IIRC I just dragged the LogicPro9 back from my desktop and into the applications folder.

Everything worked sweet after that.

Ok, Thankyou. I managed to successfully run an updater 9.1.5. So that part is resolved now have another problem as its asking for my licensing and it did not recognise my licensing number !!??

I do not have the box but wrote down the serial number , so does anyone know how to obtain the correct Licensing info to use the new Logic 9. ??!!

I had the same error. After several tries, I looked and the disk had a finger print on it...LOL...after a quick clean, I was good to go.

Definitely unreadable media, try a disc cleaner/polisher/your nice soft t-shirt...etc
