Mouse and keyboard freezing up in Mavericks. What do I do?

Since switching to Mavericks, while working in Ableton Live, Adobe Premiere and other programs on my 27" 2013 iMac, my mouse cursor will dissappear and keyboard will cease working, except when I push cmd-option-escape. Pushing that brings them both back. Any insight here?

There's a known issue with the Nexus 5 connecting to and transferring data from MBPs. I know because I have one. Right now the quick & dirty fix is to go into APP SETTINGS for MEDIA STORAGE and clear the data & cache for the app. It won't affect your files, it'll just clear out the Media Storage configuration and should let you connect without issue.

I have a 27" iMac - frequently (every couple days or so) the cursor will freeze and become unresponsive - I use an Apple trackpad and a Dell Bluetooth Travel Mouse, neither has any influence on the cursor. I need to hard reboot (power button) and the functionality is restored on restart. This started some time shortly after installing Mavericks. I thought for a while, it had gone away, after an update but it's back and extremely annoying. Someone has suggested trying Command-Space to invoke Spotlight (I use a wired keyboard, which continues to work during these freezes, which leads me to suspect Bluetooth), and then doing a serch on Bluetooth, arrow down to Bluetooth preferences, and toggle Bluetooth on.

I'll try that the next time it happens and report back the results

I have a macbook pro 2010 15", not the same machine that you have, but base on the experience that i have before, the software driver and setting might cause all kind of problem that you have never seen before.

if you have time, and really want to sort the things out, is get another internal hard drive, install the just the basic stuff to proof that you machine is ok first.

after that you get a external hard drive and use carbon copy cloner to burn the image as the backup and keep adding what you normally use and then test the system again.

when the error come, use the image to step back.

this is how I fix my old macbook and now it is almost in perfect condition.

good luck.
