Anyone getting graphics corruption in OSX Mavericks?

Having performed the upgrade, I am finding the toolbar at the top of the screen is occassionally becoming corrupted/scrambled. I've also noted the same scrambled pixels at the side of Safari and Mail windows.

Anyone else experienced this?

Same issues for me. They started today after I downloaded the newest update. Apple needs to fix this asap. There isn't an apple store within 200 miles of where I live, so taking it to a genius isn't an option.

Apparently Apple won't fix it anyways. "The NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT graphics processor repair extension program ended on December 7, 2012. This program provided extended repair coverage for a period of four years from the date of purchase, and as of Dec 7th 2012, it is unlikely products qualify for this extended repair coverage."

David, were you able to fix it? I chatted with Apple for over an hour and they suggested resetting my PRAM and my SMC. I did both, and haven't experienced the problem again yet. Worth a try.

"What we need to do to reset the SMC is make sure the computer is plugged in and charging before shutting down the computer completely. While it is powered off, we will need to hold the Shift, Control, and Option keys on the bottom left hand corner of the keyboard as well as the power button for about 5-10 seconds. After holding these keys for 5-10 seconds, we can let go of the buttons and power on your computer normally. You will not notice anything happening on the computer during the reset, which is normal, as long as the computer does not restart while holding the keys the process completed normally.

To reset the PRAM on your computer, you will want to shut down the computer. Before restarting it, you will want to locate the Command, Option, P, and R keys on your keyboard. Once you do that, power on the computer and hold those 4 keys on the keyboard before the grey screen, and the startup chime. You will want to hold those keys until the computer restarts twice, or you hear the chime and see the grey screen twice. After that, you can release the keys and use your computer as normal."

Hope this helps!

Wrong article. Here is the Mid 2010 15" MBP article: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS4088

But, it is only good for three years from date of purchase.

However, the problem doesn't appear, usually, until you upgrade, so you might be able to get someone at Apple to fix it for free.

Either way, free or paid, you'll have to replace the logic board to fix the problem. Software isn't going to fix it.

It didn't help me. I tried it, but after resetting PRAM and the SMC, the Mac was unable to boot. Disk Utility didn't help, recovering was impossible due to the older 10.8 backup, and Time Machine also had an older backup of my system prior to upgrading to Mavericks.

Thus I erased the disk, downloaded and installed Snow Leopard, transferred my data from Time Machine, and updated to Mavericks. 24 hours later: Same graphic issue again, just as posted above, sometimes the entire Finder window or application such as mail are affected, most of the time though it's the shaded areas of applications and window borders, or the names of applications in the dock and notifications popping up. Unfortunately, the issue has also came back for me. On Day 3 after PRAM & SMC reset (maybe it came back earlier but I did not notice it).

In reading through the threads on this issue, everyone seems to have a MacBook Pro mid-2010 15" model.

Fortunately, this has caused no real failures and no apps have outright crashed. Mostly it's an annoyance, occasionally shutting down what I'm working on, rebooting, opening everything back up, etc. I've been running backups every couple of days, pre-emptively!
